Great camping spot overlooking Gorge. Paddle boarding outing on lake was a lot of fun.

About Red Canyon (Ashley National Forest)
Red Canyon Campground is located in a grassy meadow high above Flaming Gorge Reservoir in northeastern Utah along Red Canyon Road at an elevation of 7.4 ft. Visitors enjoy exploring the Red Canyon Rim Trail and canoeing and fishing at Greens Lake. ( THIS IS NOT THE RED CANYON IN SOUTHERN UTAH-_ THAT ONE IS NOT RESERVABLE.)

We had a great stay at Red Canyon. We stayed one night but wished had time to stay longer. Views were gorgeous even with the smoke haze. We saw sheep crossing the road on the way in. Campground was very quiet as it was nearly empty. Had a fun day rafting on the river the next day.

This is a beautiful campsite! Room between each site, not crowded and great views! Our site was steps away from the canyon and trail to walk the rim. Would highly recommend this campsite! We will definitely be returning here!

Had site #5, very private on a Sunday evening. Lots of wildlife passed through. While the pit privy was clean it really needs to be replaced. Vetilation system does not work.

We had a reservation but some guys took our site as there was no sign saying the site was reserved.
The information board at the entrance to the campground had no emergency contact information and there was no on site campground host.
A visitor center volunteer helped us reach the campground host named Jordan.
Jordan was helpful in resolving the matter. There was a large wedding in one of the campgrounds that day and it appears that Jordan had more work than one person could handle. We were not the only ones having this issue. This all took place after hours.
The bathroom was clean.
The campground was nice and quite but seemed expensive for the amenities{vault toilet and water}.
Great walking trail right from the campground.

General
- Please note that there are multiple Red Canyon areas. This Red Canyon is on the Ashley National Forest near Flaming Gorge and Vernal in northeastern Utah. It is not the Red Canyon on the Dixie National Forest near St. George and the National Parks in southwestern Utah. The Dixie Red Canyon does not accept reservations.
- Firewood available at Greens Lake Campground.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

Site capacity
- Each site allows 1 vehicle included in the fee, and a maximum of 2 vehicles is permitted with an extra charge for the second vehicle.
Utilities
- There are no electric, water, or sewer hookups at the campground.
- Drinking water is available seasonally from mid-May to mid-September.
- Dump stations are available at several locations with an associated fee.
Amenities
- Showers are available at specific locations for registered campers only.
Fires & fuel
- Do not transport firewood to prevent pest spread; buy locally and burn on-site.

- An extra vehicle incurs a fee of $10 per day, payable in cash or check.
