I want to start by saying we HAVE NEVER had an issue at Ken't Lake until this year. We love this campground. I reserved our favorite site, 23, as soon as it became available on the recreation.gov website months ago. When we arrived at the campground on Friday, June 14th, there was a family at our site (this was after 2:00 PM). We pulled over and asked if they were leaving soon. They informed us that they were not leaving until the following day. I let them know that the site was reserved, had been for months, and that we needed it. This is when they told us that the site was a 'First come, First serve' and that our reservation did not matter. This is when we went to talk to the camp host. Long story short, he had our name, the site we reserved and the dates on his list but stated the other family would not be asked to move and that we would have to pick another site. The host prioritized the family that did not reserve instead of us, the ones that had reservations for months. The host said the owner changed which sites could be reserved, and ours (#23) was one of them. The website never let me know this, so we went thinking our site was reserved. Needless to say, we were not happy and told the host to have the family gone by mid-morning the next day so our kids could occupy the site for the rest of our reserved days. So, my warning is that if you make a reservation, your site may be occupied when you get there. Thank goodness we had a hotel on Friday evening and didn't need to camp that first night. But if we had, I would have insisted the host GIVE US priority and ask the other family to move sites. My other observation was the bathrooms were not well maintained. The floors would be mopped, but the toilet needed a GOOD cleaning and was not. We used Clorox wipes to clean the seats so we could sit down. Past hosts would hose down and scrub the toilets so that when you opened the lid, you were not looking at everyone else's...you know what I mean.

Kent's is GREAT!!

Kents Lake campground was such a great discovery for us. Snow still on the mountain across the lake in late May, quiet, green and cool at night. Quite a difference from the high temperatures in the Zion canyon where we we during the day. Lovely, friendly camp host. It is high up, requires a 4.4 mile drive up a windy dirt road to more than 8000 feet where the air is thin. Don't turn around, thinking you are lost. It is there waiting for you to enjoy and see the sunset at the end of the lake. The whole site was impeccably clean, including the restrooms. We were there only for one night. Nice place to unwind and breath some fresh air.

The camp site was pretty good, sadly ruined by the people in the neighbouring site partying till 3am. There ought to be a quiet time enforced. My kids and I hardly got any sleep so it ruined the next day for all of us.

I took my 12 year old grandson camping for his birthday this year because that’s all he wanted was to fish and be by a lake so we picked Kents Lake #16 was the spot, and it was perfect. He could get up in the morning walk right down from our campsite to the lake put his gear on and take the kayak out fishing. We had such a great time that his request is every year this is where he wants to go for his birthdays. Such a beautiful spot, and Dave was a great camp host.
