Currant Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful surroundings, clean facilities, and accommodating hosts who are helpful and friendly. Many visitors enjoy the spacious sites and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a great spot for camping and outdoor activities. However, concerns have been raised about the road conditions and maintenance of restrooms, especially due to water shortages affecting some amenities.

Arrived to no water on site. Not really a problem just an inconvenience as we always fill our tanks prior to leaving. Do like the rest room on site but they did not even have ports pots on site.

Love coming here. Due to a waterline break, there is currently no running water in loops A & B with just porta potties for restrooms however, loop B (group) and loop C still had accessibility to water.

Camp hosts were very nice, but the campground experience was horrible! We specifically picked a campsite that was next to the bathrooms and water spigot. When we got there, the bathrooms were closed, there was no water, fish cleaning station was closed. They said it was due to the water shortage, but 2 out of the 4 loops had working bathrooms and every single one of them was leaking a large amount of water. We requested a partial refund, but still haven’t heard back.

Always enjoy Currant Creek. The camp hosts were very good, I enjoyed talking to them. Hope they get the water line problems fixed.

My husband and I stayed 2-1/2 days at site 19-D at a very cold time that wasn't expected and still enjoyed ourselves with lots of peace and quiet. The Host's were very nice at helping us out because we needed firewood to stay warm as it snowed that morning and we were tent camping. We set out during the day to ride the hills in our Jeep Wrangler and what a view we had with lots of deer and chipmunks galore. I hope the next time we come through they have the water fixed so all can enjoy cleaning up after a long day camping. We will be back! Thank you so much for the fun time we had it's memories made.

No water in the campground. Porta potties were disgusting and near full. They should have been emptied more frequently.

The hosts are incredibly uncaring about the site. Fire pit was full of ashes, cigarette butts and plastic bags upon arrival. Never was checked in by the hosts but had no problem charging $10/car PER DAY for extras even though the sign says otherwise. Men’s bathrooms are absolutely disgusting between blood smears, flooding, and left behind trash. Male host is loop C is using the women’s bathroom regularly.
So heartbreaking to see this spot go down after coming for years. Will not be returning for quite some times.

From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 mi to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 mi to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 mi and graded gravel for 7 mi.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 mi southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 mi north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
Currant Creek Campground is accessible via US Highway 40, which is approximately 22 miles from Heber City. From Highway 40, the campground can be reached via FS Road 082 after turning onto Coop Creek Road.
