Perception Park

We stayed in site 10 which is supposed to accommodate tents and is listed as a double site. There was definitely NOT enough space for two tents (and we paid $60+ a night for it). We ended up putting a tent on the pavement because it was our only option. It should definitely not be a double site.

The neighbors on either side of us were quite loud- listening to loud music from sun-up till well past 10 pm. They were also loudly yelling/fighting. The sites are too close together to have such noisy neighbors.

All that being said, the creek is a great way to cool off on a warm day and we had fun floating down it.

One more side note: a small bundle of firewood was $9!!! You can drive down the road a mile or two and buy a bundle for $5.

Tubing was a blast. Campsite and bathrooms were clean. Camp host was friendly and gave us space when needed.

Campground looked great and Host were great they checked in on us often.

This is one of the only campgrounds I truly like to pay for! We are usually an off grid kind of camping family! But we make it a must to camp at perception every year! They are always clean, next to the river and the camp hosts are always friendly and helpful.

Great time and very peaceful. Would be nice if other campers knew not to run after wildlife and scare them like the moose who was there during our visit

Overall a great experience. The restrooms became over powering but then again they are vaults so you’ll have that.

Park needs a lot of work fixing things up from the Picnic tables, the fire rings, street lamps that weren't working, water being blocked by roots or weeds, paved roads/trails needing to be re-leveled and repaved.
Positives, grass is getting mowed at least once a month. There had been some tree trimming done recently so we didn't need to buy any firewood. There were also some really nice shaded areas for our tents, and the breezes kept the late afternoons from feeling too hot, early afternoon while the sun was overhead not so much.
Early in the season, so it was pretty quiet too.
