Great time down in the river with our camping chairs! All the people tubing looked like they were having a great time. We will try that next time. We did have some curious raccoons that rifled through our box of cooking tools we left outside. The rascals even managed to knock our cast iron pan onto the ground in the middle of the night. Plenty of squirrels and wildflowers. It was a great weekend! We always enjoy Southfork and the campsites offer plenty of shade, room for a family tent and we had a game area this time.

This campground is one of our favorites! We’ve also stayed in Loop B, but all the spots we’ve stayed at have been fabulous! Nice and shaded, enough privacy so that you don’t really see the campers next to you. The river offers a nice way to cool off on a hot day and you’re so close to Pineview and Causey.

I love spending time in the mountains and disconnecting! being here at south fork was a very rejuvenating experience for me and my family, spent a lot of time in the river since it was so hot and the grandkids did several river runs with tubs, the camp, bathrooms where clean as clean as an outhouse could be and the camp host was friendly. Very enjoyable experience!

Spaced out well from other camp sites. There was plenty of shade for where we put our tent on the east side of the campsite.

Do youself a favor and stay far, far away from site A19 at Southfork. The vault toilets are literally about 10 feet away from the picnic table. The foul stench vents right over to the campsite allowing you to enjoy your games, camp fire, casual conversations and especially your meals with that nice added aroma. We had fully set up camp and quickly realized there is absolutely no way we can stay here for 3 nights. We packed up and luckily found a first come first serve campsite up the canyon closer to Causey. We gladly paid again for the new site as there are no refunds once you've arrived.
"But it's the last site", don't do it. "But it's close the river", don't do it. "But it's convenient to use the restroom", DO NOT DO IT! "But we love the smell of human feces that have been baking in an open pit for a month", then have fun.

We love south Fork and try to stay there a couple times a year. The camp hosts are kind and helpful.

The destination was wonderful with Nature! We had a great time with family. It is close to the river and a great place to go that isn’t too far from the city.

South Fork is located approximately 7 miles east of Huntsville, Utah, on Highway 39. From I-15, take the 12th Street exit and continue through Ogden Canyon. Continue on Highway 39 toward Monte Cristo.

Policies & Rules
General
- This Campground is in Bear Country Always store food and trash securely to avoid attracting wildlife -Failure to comply may result in fines up to $5,000, removal from your site and/or imprisonment Remember, a fed bear is a dead bear; your actions can save lives
- Bring your own drinking water This is a 'pack it in, pack it out' facility; bring trash bags
- Dogs or Domestic Pets Owners must -Control dog by leash not to exceed six feet (6’) at all times -Clean up dog feces immediately -Limit two dogs per site Do not allow dogs to -Threaten or attack people/animals -Interfere with people, vehicles, or property -Cause damage to vegetation, habitat, or harass wildlife
- Gates open at 7am, Gates close at 10pm; No generators after 10pm; Camping is allowed only within the designated space provided. Do not go beyond the boundaries of your site; Max occupancy is 8 people per single site; Reserved sites will be held until 12pm on the day following your scheduled arrival date; Horses/Off-road vehicles are prohibited in the campground; Leave No Trace; Clean up after your pet; Be courteous to your fellow visitor. Keep noise at a reasonable level; Max Vehicle Length includes tow vehicle;
- There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends; 3-night minimum stay on holiday weekends
- Trailers/Campers and RVs: Come with your RV/trailer water tank filled. Hooking up to spigots or the power in the restrooms, even for medical devices is strictly prohibited
- First Come First Served (FF) sites For reservable sites, reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance You must claim a FF site in person on the day you wish to check-in A site listed as FF does not guarantee availability, Recreation.gov does not update FF occupancy The only way to know if an FF site is available is to arrive at the campground on the day you plan to check-in Availability cannot be predicted Many sites are in remote locations, we cannot contact camp hosts about availability Recommended arrival times vary by day. Weekends and holidays typically fill more quickly To claim an FF site, you must be present, occupy the site, and pay at that time There is no waiting list for FF sites
- Extra Vehicle -$10 per vehicle, per day (paid on-site cash/check) Firewood -$9
- If you booked at a discount without a Senior or Access pass, you'll need to pay the difference in cash/check upon arrival. Only Senior or Access passes qualify for discounts and proof of ownership upon arrival is required
- Please understand camping is an outdoor experience; we do not give refunds for weather or natural conditions Cancellations within 24 hours prior to arrival date will forfeit the entire use fee and a $10 cancellation fee No-shows, early departures, or cancellations after the arrival date are not entitled to a refund Failure to arrive at the site by 12pm the day after scheduled arrival and does not cancel the reservation, will be charged a $20 service fee and forfeit the first-night use fee
