What Guests Are Saying
Split Mountain Group Campground is praised for its beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and pleasant camp hosts, making it an inviting spot for relaxation after outdoor adventures. Reviewers recommend planning for several nights to fully enjoy the area, with access to wildlife and stargazing opportunities. However, some note challenges with tent sites due to limited shade and river access, suggesting that RV users may find it more accommodating.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Split Mountain's Group Site A. It was roomy under the cottonwood trees, and the nearby flush toilets and bathroom were a great bonus! We took a 1-day rafting trip which ended right at the campground, and it was fun seeing the various rafting groups that used the boat ramp to exit from their trips during our stay.

Such a great location to camp! The river is so close. The shade is great. I do recommend bringing in your own drinking water. And being more than you think.

Beautiful scenery, and a very pleasant surprise to have immaculately clean bathrooms with running water. We camped here after taking a trip down the split mountain section of the Green and it was really nice to be able to relax for the evening before heading home. We will definitely be back!

Great facilities but a shower would be great (even a pay shower). Be prepared for wind and dust but totally worth the scenery, stargazing, and memories. Plan on 3-4 nights to take advantage of all this park has to offer.

Nice campground. More shade will make it even better. Very clean bathrooms.

The group sites at Split Mountain are a welcome sight following a trip down the Yampa and/or Green rivers. There's plenty of space to spread out and also to gather for a campfire. The camp hosts are always pleasant and the facilities clean.
