About Green River Campground

The Green River Campground is located along the banks of the Green River at an elevation of 4,750 feet (1448 m). The highly eroded Split Mountain is visible to the north. The campground is about five miles (8 km) from the famous Quarry Exhibit Hall, where you can see 149 million year old dinosaur bones still encased in the rock. A short distance from the campground is the Split Mountain Boat Ramp where river rafters come off the Green River after trips through Dinosaur National Monument's canyons.

Beautiful campground. But so many generators! NPS, please change your policy to have more peaceful generator hours. Who goes camping just to listen to motors humming?

The night sky was the best dark and clear sky I have seen in years. Very few places in this county have such good night-sky viewing. The campsite was clean and available as reserved. All was quiet day and night. The nearness to the places of interest was excellent.

Nice campground 5 miles from the Dinosaur Quarry Exhibit Hall. We stayed in site 49B which had plenty of room for our trailer

We were there at end of August. The campground was clean and very peaceful- despite it being very busy. The host was kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Our setting was near the river-a picture perfect spot. The camp host came to greet us and later in the evening, she stopped by for a delightful chat (we had invited her earlier). The facilities were awesome. Wish we'd had more time to spend there. Will definitely be back!

We found the campground delightful...until the group in several RVs pulled up and ran their generators past quiet time. We were staying in a tent and to say the noise and fumes were disruptive is an understatement. I wouldn't stay here again on a weekend and will look more closely for tent-only campgrounds. Lovely site, though.

Lovely campground along the Green River. Site A1 is a back-in site with space for a tent and RV. The bathrooms were clean and have flush toilets, sinks and water available at a fountain just outside. Large cottonwoods provide shade in some sites. My visit was on 9/30 and the weather was good. During the summer it would be hot.
