Campsite is nice but very near a busy main road with lots of traffic noise. No shade at all at our site (Loop A , 002). No hiking trails near the camp site so you have to drive first if you want to hike. We have a motorhome which was not very convenient as we had to pack up to go anywhere else. Camp host was great.

Campground is very quiet. Camp host was friendly. Bathrooms were always clean. It’s also close to many ATV trails and other recreational activities.

The camp sites were miss labeled on your web site. This makes it very difficult to know if the trailer will fit in the site.

We love Soapstone and include that campground in our trips. They keep it clean. The only issue which, is sometimes common with other campgrounds, is the restrooms. It would be nice if they were somehow not so smelly. I don't know if that is possible, but it would be great. The campground is near nice hiking trails and Mirror Lake so there is things to do.

From Salt Lake City, Utah, take I-80 east for approximately 30 miles to Exit 146 for Highway 40 toward Park City/Heber City/Vernal. Take Exit 4 onto Highway 248 toward Kamas. Take left onto UT 32 then right onto Highway 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway). Go 15 miles to campground.

Soapstone Campground is accessible via I-80, approximately 30 miles from Salt Lake City, with connections to Highway 40 and Highway 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway). Highway 40 provides access from both Salt Lake City and Heber City.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Gates open at 7 AM and close at 10 PM; camping is limited to designated spaces with a maximum of 8 people per site. Prohibitions include horses, off-road vehicles, fireworks, and amplified music. Ensure cleanliness and proper trash disposal to avoid fines.
- For First Come First Served sites, arrive in person to check availability and claim your site; reservations for other sites must be made at least 5 days in advance.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Wildlife & food storage
- Store food and trash securely to avoid attracting bears; violations may result in fines and removal from the site.
Utilities
- No water is available on site; bring your own drinking water and trash bags as this is a 'pack it in, pack it out' facility.
- RV and trailer owners must arrive with a full water tank; connecting to water or power sources on site is prohibited.
Pets
- Pet owners must control dogs on a leash, clean up after them, and limit to two dogs per site; dogs are prohibited from aggressive behavior and damaging the environment.
Safety & rules
- A minimum stay of 2 nights is required on weekends and 3 nights on holiday weekends.
- Users assume full responsibility for their actions and any accidents or injuries that may occur.
Fees & deposits
- Discounts are only applicable with Senior or Access passes; bring proof to avoid paying the difference in cash/check upon arrival.
- An additional vehicle costs $10 per day and firewood is available for $9, both paid on-site.
Cancellation policy
- No refunds for weather; cancellations within 24 hours incur a $10 fee. No-shows and late arrivals face additional charges.

Fires & fuel
- Obtain firewood within 10 miles of the campground to prevent pest spread; do not move firewood from other areas.
