What Guests Are Saying
Trial Lake Campground offers a beautiful and tranquil setting with spacious sites, great views, and a variety of wildlife, making it an ideal spot for families and nature enthusiasts. The campground is well-maintained, with friendly camp hosts who go out of their way to assist visitors. However, the lack of running water and some tight parking situations for larger trailers were noted as drawbacks. Overall, it's a popular choice for a relaxing outdoor experience.

We've stayed at Trial Lake before and it is very nice. This year because of the snow and flooding, we were there mid-July and the campground had just opened. This time we stayed in site #1 -- a double site. It is at the bottom of a big hill which really limited where we could put our tents. There are 2 10x10 tent pads, but one of our tents is 14x14, so we had to put it in the grass and sleep on an incline. The location of the site is literally right across the road from the lake. We would just walk across with our chairs and kayaks and enjoyed the day, but it also meant that other people were parking at our site or literally walking thru the middle of the site to get to the water (nothing to do with the campground, just people's bad manners.) The water was beautiful. The site itself had a ton of bugs and small worm like bugs were falling out of the trees over the picnic tables. I like the lake, but I wouldn't stay at site #1 again.

Great spot, right on the lake. Note - only really area for one tent, but as long as you are a smaller group - this is as good as it gets!

The overall experience was fine. There's a bit of a walk down hill from the parking spot to the firepit and picnic table. There was no place to put our tent so we put it up in the parking spot.

We loved Trial lake. The campground was ready to go when we got there and the lake was full!
The CG hosts were friendly and ready to help us get settled in.
The weather was spectacular and we enjoyed our stay. We were told about a cool hike right below the dam. I guess there is a waterfall there. Next time!
