The campsite host was very kind and helpful and let us move sites when our reserved site was too windy for us to set up our tent

The Campground was very nice. Most of them are nestled in some aspen trees, but some are more open. The bathrooms have flush toilets and a light inside. Each site had a bbq grill and a firepit. We had a trailer, but our site was level enough to if we wanted to set up a tent.

The view was nice, but we had a hard time backing into our site. We have a 37’ fifth wheel and due to large rocks lining the road and site, there is not much room to maneuver.

We had reserved #11, and before we arrived (after a TON of research and finding an obscure campground map) we found the map on recreation.gov is inaccurate. When we arrived, #11 was a total no-go for us - way too short! It wasn't even shown on the right side of the road!
Fortunately #9 was FCFS and open, so we took that one instead. The camp host took care of things for us and we spent 9 wonderful nights at this beautiful place. We went hiking 5 times, and saw deer every day.
As full-timers we have an arsenal of cellular providers, and our experience was the T-Mobile (data) was workable, Verizon (cell + a little data) could get texts no problem and phone calls too, AT&T pretty useless. That was UNTIL everyone started to arrive in the area for Labor Day weekend. Then we had nada, zilch, nothing! After everyone left, it was back to the previous mid-week experience.
We absolutely loved our time here. Even when the campground was full we didn't feel crowded. We hope to be able to return some day.

My husband was cooking our dinner on the fire pit at the campground and the host came over and told him he couldn’t be doing that. No explanation why, no posted signs anywhere. For this reason we left a day early.

This is one of a couple NF campgrounds at Fish Lake. This campground has access to trails around the lake and up Mytoge Mountain. It is also accessible to fly fish the Fremont River, or just fish the lake itself. It was also an easy drive to the Cathedral Valley section of Capitol Reef NP.. I never ran out of things to do for the week stay. If you are looking for a place with a dark sky, I got some great photos of the Milky Way over Mytoge Mountain at about 11 PM one evening.
