Redman Campground

As always, Redman campground was superb. Clean, pretty, accessible, lots of wildlife. Reasonable pricing as well.

We really loved the location of this site. It has a stream running right through camp. It is near the pit toilet (need to walk further for flushing toilets), but it is fairly isolated from other sites. Only issue was when we arrived there were lots of cigarette butts on the ground, some trash, used cloths, and a diaper. It didn't take long to pick up and toss out the trash, but inconvenient.

PROS:
1. Wonderful camp host
2. Great proximity to bathrooms
3. Cell service for T-Mobile was 5bars of 5G.
4. Loved having running water for the bathrooms and the spigot for filling up my camp dishes bucket

CONS:
1. The site is mostly sloped. There is 1 flat tent spot and the remaining options are sloped. Keep this in mind.
2. The squirrels and chipmunks are relentless

Beautiful campground with large sites lots of privacy. Will return. Good bathrooms. Moose do come into campground we saw 2 in our 7 night stay.

Redman is a jewel of a camping experience. Large campsites. The flush restrooms are clean. The pit toilets are a trial and make the walk to a flush toilet worth it.
Lee the campground host is kind and helpful.

Site 3: Lack of shade is the #1 issue — come prepared
The biggest drawback of Site 3 is the lack of natural shade — you’re fully exposed from sunup to sundown, with no relief at any point in the day. The trees are spread out, so if you bring a tarp (highly recommended, even in mild ~85° weather), plan on packing a lot of paracord to reach trees far enough apart to cover the camping and picnic area. A pop-up canopy is another option — that’s what we’d bring next time. Beyond that, the site needs general maintenance: the picnic table is in disrepair, grass around it is overgrown, the fire pit sits on uneven ground, and there isn’t enough level ground for a tent — we ended up pitching ours on the gravel parking area.
The old stove/oven on site looks long unused and shouldn’t be relied on — it appears it should simply be removed. Also, don’t count on buying firewood on site — the host told us there was none available and no delivery in over a month. Bring your own, since wood gathered from the surrounding area is mostly damp and won’t burn well. The campground overall is beautiful and the bathrooms are nice, but until Site 3 gets some upkeep, I wouldn’t recommend it, and if you do book it, come prepared for full sun, extra cord for shade, and your own firewood.

The proximity to the city allows access for many camping neophytes to this campground but the sites are excellent and it has flushing toilets.

Beautiful setting with lots of tall conifers, a nearby stream, daily sightings of deer. People adhered to quiet hours. Bathrooms with flush toilets right across the gravel road which the hosts kept plentifully stocked. However, the men's restroom did not have running water in the sink. There was a large dumpster and a water spigot near the bathrooms, too. Six large picnic tables were adequate for the 40 people who came and at least one or more tables at a time were shaded throughout the day. Nice fire pit with seating around it. Lots of level space for tents. It was challenging to have space for only 10 vehicles since we had several more than 10 families with their vehicles at our reunion. There is overflow parking near the campground entrance, a bit of a jaunt from our campsite. It wouldn't take much valuable space to add a few parking places since this is a group site. The camp hosts did not have firewood as the website described. We have group camped at Redman Campground for many years.

Stayed in site 6 - it was an easy spot to set up and camp and the grounds were fantastic, great coverage of pine and a creek behind. The site is across from the restrooms and next to the group site so I can see this site getting a fair bit of foot traffic behind and to the side as it is more or less on a corner with the driveway/parking for site 789 which is the group site on one side and the main CG road on the other. The restrooms were very basic, be prepared to bring your own soap, towel and mirror and the women's restroom needed a bit of attention. There is great potable water available outside the restroom, which was nice to have.
Since the CG is so near to Solitude and the highway there is a decent amount of road noise, but that dies down around 9pm and starts back up around 7am.
All in all a good stay and a great jumping off spot to head to Deer Valley or to ride the local trails.

We have been camping at Redman for over 10 years. My kids loved it when they were little and they still love it now that they are all grown up. There are many great camp sites and it is in a perfect location if you want to hike some of the trails up at Brighton.
