Redman is one of our favorites. The roads are mostly unpaved and it's more rustic than nearby Spruces. There are super old pit toilets and a bathhouse with electricity and running water.

I love this site and camp here every year. The steps down into the site are “the price” we pay for the expansive isolated site. It would be nice if staff would dig out some of the soil erosion burying the picnic table. Because of the loose soil, only short short people can site on the south side of the picnic table. About 12 inches of clearance under the table is typical.

It is a nice campground. Silver Lake is close by. The road is worse than a typical campground. It is pretty rough for a passenger car.

Redman Campground is well maintained. The bathrooms (most are flush toilets) are clean and the camp host makes sure all the campers follow the rules for the benefit of all. The potable water tasted great. Giant mature trees provide needed shade in the summer. There were lots of wildflowers to enjoy in July. We will be back at Redman!

Beautiful campground. Quiet (not too much noise despite proximity to the road), with lots of shade and wildlife. Site 12 is very spacious, nicely nestled between trees, and has a path straight to the bathrooms. Bathrooms and campsite were clean. I had a wonderful time and saw lots of wildlife, including a deer that walked right into my campsite before noticing me. Additionally, I'm a solo camper and I felt quite safe here. I would highly recommend Redman and especially site 12.

Such a beautiful campground! The road can get a little noisy in the busy canyon, but the fresh air, abundant wildlife, and forest energy more than make up for it.

It's a beautiful campground. We were at #39. There are two things to be aware of though. One is that the pit toilet is a 2-3 minute walk uphill. There are other sites at Redman that have flushing toilets that are much closer to the campsites. The other issue is that the parking situation at #39 is not good. The campsite right across from it (#40) has room for 3-4 cars right in front of the site, but there aren't any right in front of #39. Presumably, you're meant to share the 3-4 spots, but if the people who reserved #40 aren't inclined to share, then you're out of luck. We just had to park parallel to our site, forcing all cars to make 6-7 point turns to get out of the site. We still had a good time though. We'll just pick a different site next time.

From I-215, take the 6200 South exit and travel a mile east to Wasatch Blvd. Take Wasatch Blvd a mile south to junction with Big Cottonwood Canyon/Highway 190. Make a left at the junction and travel up Big Cottonwood Canyon for 14 miles to the campground.

- Gates operate from 7am to 10pm; maximum 8 people per site; several strict regulations on noise and waste apply.
- FF sites require in-person check-in; reservations must be made 5 days in advance, and availability is uncertain.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Wildlife & food storage
- Keep food and trash secure to avoid wildlife attractions; violations can lead to fines or removal.
Utilities
- No water provided on-site; bring all necessary water and trash bags.
- RVs and trailers must arrive with filled water tanks; no hooking up to spigots.
Pets
- Only service animals are allowed; fines for pets or livestock may apply.
Safety & rules
- Minimum stays: 2 nights on weekends, 3 nights on holiday weekends.
- Users assume responsibility for their safety and property; Utah Recreation is not liable.
Site types & loops
- Off-road vehicles are prohibited in the canyon area.
Fees & deposits
- Extra vehicle fee is $10 per day; firewood costs $9.
- Discounts require proof of Senior/Access pass at check-in; otherwise, pay the difference in cash/check.
