Nice campground but very inconvenient to have bathroom and water shut off with a full campground of campers

Great location in an amazing national park! Bathrooms were clean and water easily available. Proximity to bike path and park were great! Showers would have been great and on site store for things like ice. We found that similar parks like Bryce have lots of services that Zion did not. Overall, loved it and would be back again for longer!

An easily accessible place, the rangers were kind, the area was clean and quiet. There are water outlets on several sites for your campervans.

I really enjoyed my experience at South Campground in Zion National Park. The campground was clean and the sites were spaced far enough apart to provide a sense of privacy. Water sources and restrooms were spaced close enough to all sites. I was impressed with the courtesy of all campers who valued the dark skies and the quiet of the valley.

Awesome campsite within walking distance from the free shuttle. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. Site 54 has an unbelievable view of towering red cliffs. Very close to restrooms; no noticeable smell or disruption. Elk walked right through our site, it was a great experience.

I signed up for site 128 at the South campground, for which was one of the few tent sites that were a little further out from the other camp sites and did not allow you to park your car next to the camp site. Instead we had assigned parking by the bathroom stall like 300 feet away. I didn’t know this beforehand, so if you have a lot of stuff to set up for, know you’ll be lugging them quite a distance from your car to your campsite. Carrying a heavy cooler that distance was strenuous, especially under the hot heat, and everything else we had too was a trek I personally wished I could’ve avoided. The campsite was good for what it was being clean and having a low fire pit. Caution that because it’s more away from the other campsites, there are no trees or anything to cut the wind that blows in between the mountains. I’m not sure if it was just that night we camped, but the winds were howling and I had a pop up tent that did not hold up well to the raging winds. Because of this, I could not sleep, so we packed up and left at 3am that morning after an unrestful night and did not stick around to sleep our two nights there, and actually ended up cutting our Zion trip short (yes we had to lug all our stuff to our car that seemed so far away at night). The nights before we camped at Zion Ponderosa, and had no problems with wind or our tent. If you don’t mind not being able to park your car next to your campsite with a little walking, and loud strong winds, camp here, otherwise do a different camping site not 120’s. I loved Zion Ponderosa and would definitely check them out if you don’t mind camping at the East end of Zion instead of the South entrance (45 min away)! Zion is impeccably beautiful and stunning! Camping out at our site (128) was a different story, but if I wanted to be camp by the south entrance inside the park and this one was the only available campsite (because these campsites run out quick), I’d choose it still and just be ready

Zion is Zion. Very beautiful, great hikes, you can’t ask for more.
The restrooms at the campground however need serious renovations. Doors which don’t lock, nothing to dry your hands, etc…
