About Red Cliffs Campground

Red Cliffs Recreation Area includes a campground, day use areas, a non-motorized trail system, and interpreted public use sites. Dinosaurs left their footprints, now visible in the sandstone. Ancestral Puebloans lived here in the 10th century, growing corn, beans, and squash along Quail and Leeds Creek. Mid-19th century pioneers farmed here, supplying the area’s silver miners with food. Located within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, the Recreation Area is managed to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the public lands.

Very nice site. Not quite as level as we would have liked, but it was very clean and the location (site 10) was very scenic.

A quiet beautiful oasis just off the highway. Last minute booking so we arrive in the dark, when morning arrive the sunrise was amazing. Recommend it for a little break, hike reprieve from travel.

Paid for a spot. Arrived at 5 pm and someone was in it and refuses to leave. Haven’t received a refund. Nobody checks here.

We loved our time here! We are already planning to come back early next Spring.
We stayed here November 12 -15, 2024, the weather was great here, and snowing up north where we live. It was sunny and in the 60's daytime, 30's at night. The elevation here is about 3200 ft. so it's warmer. It'll be really hot in summer though. It's beautiful in the Fall with all of the Cottonwoods etc. glowing yellow, add the red rock mountains all over, and it was stunning.
We were in campsite 4. I love that we could reserve, it's a rare feature for BLM, it was nice to know for sure that we had a spot.
Site 4 isn't the best for a tent unless you set up on the pavement, though there is supposedly a small place to put a tent it doesn't look too good. We have an 18 foot A-frame hard side pop-up trailer and fit perfectly, we were able to just park our Outback in front of the trailer. If you are longer than this, you probably won't fit this site. This site is on a curve and right up against the red rock cliff, so amazing, and more private. There is a firepit and picnic table, but I believe it's the only site without a pavilion. This was not a problem since it was such great weather.
There is a fresh water pump at the site, but no hookups. There are very clean pit toilets (ours was next to site 5 just down from us), and a garbage.
There are an amazing number of trails right out of the camp -four!! We did two of them so far and will do the others when we come back.
The location of this camp is wonderful. About 25 minutes to the north is Kolob Canyons Zion NP. On you way up there stop at Leeds Trading Post and grab some pie! It was a great treat that we saved to eat in the parking lot after hiking at Zion. About 25 minutes south is St. George. We took a day to enjoy Christmas shopping and eating lunch there. St. George is loaded with shops and restaurants. The general area has quite a lot of historical attractions too.

All around great camp spot.

Mostly campervans and tents. Like the smaller feel. Awesome hike and bike rides right from the campground. Very pretty. We will be back.
