What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Fruita campground. The campsite was spacious and very clean. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The campground hosts were awesome, on the ball, staying on top of campsite changeovers, and professionally dealing with people without reservations. We tend to avoid NPS campgrounds, but we’ll come back here again.

Mule deers directly in front of your RV almost all day long and everything you need on place. The only thing that is a bit weird is the generator use that is only allowed in one loop that is very close to the other where you are only allowed to listen to the running generators on the other side of the fence.

Great location, great campsite! Felt like we were in a quaint little town…and a quick walk for a pie in the morning. Absolutely wonderful!

Really beautiful spot, but if you're camping in a trailer, the campsites in the row we were in had picnic tables and fire pits positioned on the driver-side of the back-in driveway, making the entrance to your trailer/camper opposite where all your things are. It made for awkward eye contact when you'd step out of your camper and walk nearly into your neighbor's picnic table and fire pit. Other than that, the bathrooms were nice and there are great hikes nearby.

Best place to stay if you are visiting Capitol Reef. Hike right from the campground to some of the trails and be first in line for cinnamon rolls in the morning at the Gifford House! Lots of deer wandering through the campground. Facilities are tired and need some updating - automatic lights didn't always come on in the women's bathroom near our campsite.

It was great camping in the NP. It was close to everything and the deer were in the campground nightly. Only negative thing was no cell service and no WiFi. So you better not need help or look up anything unless you have StarLink. Only NP where we saw the rangers pulling over speeders and saw them numerous times patrolling the parking areas and the campground. Loved it!

Site 71 - beautiful site and campground. Flat. Adjacent to trail access road, so some traffic. Amazing night sky!
