What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

Absolutely sublime in every aspect.
Take the scenic drive into the Capitol Gorge before you leave, it's really something.

This is a walk in site, one of 4 or 5 walk in sites in a group. Beautiful view, some shade. The bathrooms were a short walk away. Each of the sites had a fire pit with a grate and also a charcoal grill. If we are able to stay again, we may stay further from the road but we enjoyed our stay.

This is a great campground with a very attentive campground host. Getting a pie everyday from the Gifford House was a real treat!! The only thing I’d say is we were there in April (site #15) and the fall leaves had never been picked up. There were piles of leaves under our picnic table and in our site, at least a foot deep. Seems like they should have been cleaned up!!

Lovely, close to a great hike, close to pie shop, close to stream. Flat and spacious.

This site - Loop C, 069 - is terrible. It is small, there are no trees or grass, it is immediately adjacent to a busy trailhead road, and there is no place to set up a tent - what little ground there is is covered in gravel/rocks. Cars passing on the gravel road kick up dust into this site. The fire ring is 18 inches from the road, so if the wind is blowing from the wrong direction, you have to set up your chairs in the road to enjoy the fire. This site should be removed.

There's really not much around the area, but the campground in the park did the job. Amazing view of the stars at night! Bathrooms were decent, not too many people in the campground. Drove to the end of the scenic drive and on the dirt road and hiked out the trail at the end. Very cool! Neat history of the area, too.

Great park. Although all the sites were reserved there were 6 or 7 that were vacant over the night I was there.
