What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

Great campground with super helpful volunteer hosts.
I was afraid everything would be closed because of the political issues…I was extremely grateful our amazing parks, visitor centers and campgrounds were at least partially functioning. Our parks make a positive difference in people’s lives and present our nation in its best light to the millions of international visitors who come to visit them annually.

Nice setting, beautiful road to get there, nice visitor center.
No showers, bathroom okay, sites are close to one another. No electric sites.
Setting and trail out of campground are fabulous with fruit trees, deer and mountains. Nice 1 mi trail from the camp with an excellent view!! Perfect for the price!!

Nice campground with flush toilets, potable water, nearby talks by rangers, beautiful setting, fire rings, campground host. The Gifford House nearby sells tasty pies, cinnamon rolls, tchotchkes, and is a museum. All the people we encountered were very pleasant.

This campground is crammed with tents and RVs. It is nice to stay in the park, but this is not the place for you if you want a bit of distance from your neighbors. Try to get a campsite closer to the river rather than backing up to the road. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

Loads of wildlife! We saw lots of deer and a friendly skunk. The campground is also next to the river and a couple of horses. The rushing water provides a nice background noise. Plus, you have easy access to the Gifford house. I woke up, pet some horses, bought some firewood, and ate some pies for breakfast. Bathrooms were clean and water from fountain tasted clean and clear. The sites were a good size where you didn't feel too close to anyone.
