Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

Sites were flat and easy to navigate. Our biggest issue was that there was no electricity but generators were not allowed (ever) in Loop A. Loop B was 40 ft away from us and generators were allowed. Doesn't make any sense at all. OK to have designated generator times, but not sensible to have no electricity but outlaw generators in one loop but not the other.

Capitol Reef NP is a very scenic park. It offers beautiful views, a variety of hiking trails, a campground, 2 of the 3 loops being generator free so fairly quiet. Internet service and cell service are not good except at the Visitor Center and then only if one is close to the entry door. Gifford House is a draw for people as are the orchards.

Our site in loop C was large, clean, and easy to get into. However, we arrived in the dark, and road signage leading to campground and specifically loop C wasn't super clear. We had to pull into loop A and hop out to view the campground map to figure out where we were headed. We had a reservation, but the sign posts at sites said campers arriving without a reservation could scan QR code and use park wifi to check if sites were available. There was absolutely no park wifi available. We were able to access park wifi from the visitor's center in the morning, but this area is not walking distance from the campsites. The camp host we met in the morning was friendly and helpful. We were able to easily walk the riverside path to the Gifford House for displays and pies. Other points of interest (visitor's center, school house, hikes) require a drive. No Orchards were in season when we visited (March) but the blossoms were beautiful. Would love to return another time of year to enjoy the fruit.

We loved staying at The Fruita/Capital Reef Campground! The spaces had a lot of room and it was so scenic. Hiking trails weren't very far away and the ones we did were gorgeous. Bathrooms were very clean.

For the longest time, Zion was my favorite park. However, Capitol Reef surprised me, and I'm not sure Zion holds that top spot anymore! We hiked the Hickman trail and camped near the Fremont River. We spent a full day exploring Cathedral Valley (recommend), and we loved it! We visited the Temple of the Sun and Moon, and we drove out to the Gypsum Sinkhole. Another great spot was the Gooseneck for its views. Before we left the park, we stopped in at the Gifford house and bought fresh pies and ate them in the picnic area while watching the horses graze. It's less crowded, so a more relaxed experience. I'd like to come back and stay for a week.

This campground was great! It was clean and shaded. It was convenient to all of the sites in the park and we even had wifi service in the campground! The campsites are very close to each other, so don't expect a lot of privacy.

Great access to great hikes. Very friendly and helpful campground hosts. Staff at the visitor center were very busy, but very helpful. The history of the "oasis" is very interesting.
