Fruita Campground

Highly recommend this campground.

Camp hosts Bubba and his sidekick were very nice. The campground is very neat and peaceful. Deer roam freely though the sites. Recently re-paved asphalt was a bit sticky, but it was hot while we were there. Trees provide ample shade. Sites are close together but large enough for side by side parking.

Camps are far too close together luckily we got an end tent site. Kids ran out of control after sun went down. Beautiful but could use some improvement.

Our travel trailer (30ft trailer, 20ft truck) fit nicely into the site. There was shade, which was awesome, but that limited solar production and I had to run the generator three days to recharge batteries because of cloudy conditions and rain! This campground is amazing! The camp host Bubba was amazing. The pies and cinnamon rolls were amazing. The hiking was great!. This site was next to a field, so no one was behind you, and the irrigation for the fruit trees ran all the time, which would lull you to sleep at night, much like a running stream and drowned out your noisy neighbors during the day. The stars were also amazing! Finally there was limited generator usage in loop C, two hours in the morning and two in the evening, but someone always had to be reminded because they did not read the rules. There was the national park rangers that also made their rounds, so you felt safe and secure. The sites were currently sealed or paved, but there was no effort to level them. Every campsite with a trailer or van had to do some leveling. This site is low on the drivers side.

Nice campground, great spot for a family to camp. Definitely is a more established camp ground, camp sites are on top of each other. If you are looking to get out into the woods and away from people this is not the place for you.

Campground was wonderful. Love the trees and the lush grass. We were in loop C and the campers were not to close. There needs to be work done for the potable water and dump station in Loop A. There were no directions given when we checked in or received in the email that we would need to fill with water in Loop A. We went into loop C and had to ask another camper where to fill water. When we went to loop A, the end of the hose was missing so there was no way to put water into our tank. The hydrant had a bag over it and was not usable. We were able to suction water by running the potable water into a bucket and then suction into our tank. This took over 1/2 hr to get a half of tank of water. We mentioned this to both the ranger and the host. They said maintenance would get it fixed; however, when maintenance stopped over there, they just took off the bag from the hydrant and never fixed the potable water hose. We were there 3 days, and it was never fixed.

Also, not part of the campground, but there was no mention of the main road being closed for the whole summer season when we booked our stay. This information should be shared.

Facilities were good, however the campsites were super close to each other with absolutely 0 privacy, not ideal

This campsite is a beautiful oasis of green in a sea of red rock. Such a fun contrast. The Gifford House is an absolute must. Close to great hikes and facilities were good!

We love this campground, Such an oasis. The cinnamon rolls and pies are an added bonus!

Nice campground w/ trees providing shade. Clean restrooms w/ flush toilets. Very helpful campground host (The lady was a volunteer from Tennessee). Unfortunately the scenic route was closed, but we could do a short hike along the river w/ great views starting right at the campground.
