What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

Sites are pretty much level, nice distance apart and most have some shade during the day. Restrooms were clean.

The sites were spacious, there weren't too many of them, and the bathrooms were easily reachable from any of them. The night sky is amazing from the park, and it was fun to watch a small, unafraid herd of deer scope out the edibles in the campsite. Capitol Reef is my favorite national park and I feel lucky to have gotten a campsite there for two nights.

Such a lovely spot! Probably the nicest most relaxing place I have camped at. Red canyon walls surround the campground and the Fremont River runs right through it. The Gibson Family farm right next to the campground serves fresh baked goods (pies, bread and cinnamon rolls) daily. They also have a gift shop with many home canned items.
The campground has three loops and only one allows you to run your generator, which on our fourth day became a problem for us so we moved outside the campground to run the generator. The campground is positioned to allow for many short hikes, playing in the river, and access to the Scenic Route of the park. I only wish that we had had a vehicle 23 ft or less (our RV is 26 ft) in order to go into the Grand Wash and other interesting areas of the park. We also made use of the day use areas to exercise our dogs which was really wonderful. I cannot say enough about the Fruita Campground and Capitol Reef National Park. We LOVED IT!

Campground was clean and well kept. The camp host was friendly and helpful. Water and sewer disposal is available in the campground. The cute pie store and other sites are within walking distance

Beautiful as usual and well kept. Common areas and bathrooms clean. Hosts friendly as is park staff. And great pie—and park and hikes. Scenic drive road improvement is excellent.

Very clean and quiet campsite. We met friendly neighbors (not talking about the wandering deers :)
What was missing was a nearby shop to buy food (think of bringing everything with you when sleeping there) and the internet coverage is relatively poor (but it can be a good thing sometimes :) ). Would stay there again.
