What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

Capital Reef NP, is well staffed, trails and attractions well described and maintained. We successfully had made camp site reservations on Recreation.gov. Unfortunately, when we got there the site was for a walk in tent site. We preferred a site where a car could be conveniently parked near the tent and picnic table. Fortunately, there were some sites available. Recreation.gov has some nice features for planning a vacation in Federal parks.considering the vast resources under its management. But, can be very frustrating at times when changes have to be made. such. as switching camp sites iwhich s cumbersome and annoying for someone not versed on the intricacies of making a change on line, receiving a refund for site one and re booking on site 2., all apparently without a live campground host available to do so.
However, actually there was a VERY gracious campground host assistant AVAILABLE at the Fruita Camp Ground who had had a career in Information Technology and went around the campground helping old people like me, change their reservation on the cumbersome Recreation.gov site. I don't even know her name, but a call to the Park would quickly identify her. She should receive some sort of an award for technical skilll and personal pleasantness. Sincerely yours. Bruce Glenn

We would be pleased to camp here again. Campground was peaceful and bathrooms were clean. We only realized upon leaving that there is some wifi in the campground since there is no signal. There was more parking than seemed necessary for a tent site, but there was also plenty of space to set up a large tent. Most sites seemed to have some shade. We enjoyed exploring the nearby Puebloan rock art early in the morning before others arrived and then got in line for pies and cinnamon rolls, which were excellent.

Very Good Campground with simple infrastructure - no hookups and showers, the toilets are very clean though!
Great Area for hiking, stargazing, picking fruits in the orchards.

Beautiful , green, and cool even when high temp was 90 plus. Big shade trees. Beautiful orchards. Interesting ranger presentations. Pies and pastries homemade excellence!

Loop C has a fair amount of shade and grass, which was nice for the hot weather. The grand wash was great, and Cassidy arch is beautiful!

The pies as always were delicious. We got to pick some fruit this time although the selection was limited. Sulpher Creek was running well. High enough that we didn't want to get wet to get past the first waterfall.
