What Guests Are Saying
Fruita Campground is a beautiful, family-friendly site nestled among fruit orchards and stunning red cliffs, offering a peaceful atmosphere and excellent hiking opportunities. Clean bathrooms, friendly hosts, and unique amenities like fruit picking contribute to a memorable camping experience. While some sites require improvements for better tent setups and there are occasional issues with flies, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's charm and its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park.

LOVED this campground! Such a unique spot and experience. With there being less sites, it was quieter, so we were able to truly relax during our stay. It was so fun walking through the orchard right next to the site, and having the Gifford House so close was awesome for procuring treats during the day! Also, there were deer galore!

The campground was very nice with paved roads and sites. The restroom had stools out of order so take a number and wait. Very limited hours for generator use, even in the RV campground. Potable water at the dump station supplied by small copper tubing. Slow and no way to filter the water. My freshwater tank got a lot of sand from it. The cap on the dump itself was broke off. Someone plugged the hole with a rock, which was surrounded by a puddle of effluent. The best part of this campground was the drive to it over the Hogback.

Very slopey campsite - difficult to find a spot for a tent. Site is better for a trailer or camper van. Otherwise, very clean and fun campground.

We were in site 63, nice level site with a great view of the orchard and grass field frequented by several large mule deer. Close to the amphitheater and restroom. Restroom could use some "freshening " up. People need to realize this is a dark sky park and should keep unnecessary excess light to a minimum. Site fit our 20 ft trailercand ford ranger combo easily side by side.

While the campground itself is clean and well-maintained, we did not have a good experience here. Primarily because of the layout and design of the sites themselves. There are far too many campsites too close together to have a truly enjoyable camping experience. Because of the closeness there was no privacy, people walked through our campsite almost constantly, and we were able to hear conversations and music that should have been private. We ended up leaving a day early.

We took the four kids (ages 5-12) and grandparents camping at loop C campground. Campground was clean, bathrooms were clean, we used both loop C and loop B bathrooms. The astronomy ranger talk at 9 pm with telescopes was really cool. I know the cinnamon rolls sold at Gifford Farmhouse are delicious. I, however, did not anticipate the 40ish person line to get them. They are worth it and so is the pie.

Lovely walk in campsites with plenty of space and views. Hard to beat.

We had a walk-in campsite. I loved how spacious it was. Ground was level for walking, which really helped an older member of our group. We were entertained by the deer who walked through the site. Good star-gazing. Pit toilet. Trash was fairly convenient. It was a bit inconvenient that the "bear" box was not close to the picnic table.
