The yurt was great and we had lots of fun. My only complaint is that there was a lot of junk left behind by previous people (including an entire bag of garbage). Please practice leave no trace, even 'useful' things like hand warmers and fire starters should not be left behind if you brought them there. You might think you are doing folks a favor, but in reality it just starts to junk the place up after a while.

The hike up was a little difficult but my husband, 3 girls, and I loved staying in this yurt! It was cozy and warm. We loved the outside firepit and the inside wood stove. The bunkbeds were spacious and there was extra toilet paper, wood, matches, and cooking utensils. We are so excited to go again. Thanks for having this available for a reasonable price.

Although the road getting up to the yurt was a bit challenging, once we got there, it was great. The bunk beds (at least the lower ones) were good and they didn't have those noisy mattress covers on them like other forest service places. The yurt was clean and quite comfy. It rained for the first two hours of our visit and water did leak along the edges but we just kept our things up. We had a visitor (mouse) in the middle of the night who was determined to get into a bag of chips but other than that, it was quite peaceful. The views were wonderful. The outhouse...horrible...stinkiest outhouse in the world.
We went up to watch the meteor shower and caught some good views but clouds prevented a full night of watching. We followed our stay with a drive to Matt Warner Reservoir. It was a beautiful drive and so peaceful up there.

Could not have been a more special experience! We did make it up there no trouble with a ford escape in early October (with a nail in 1 tire no less), not that I’m endorsing that for others… As soon as we got out of the car we heard an elk bugle! Saw the Milky Way in all its glory overnight! Only thing to note is if you’re up there during hunting season park off to the side of the road. Starting at 2am you will get a never ending stream of loud atvs roaring past the yurt to take advantage of the season. Had a lot more human visitors during our stay than was expected but didn’t realize hunters could use the forest road for their activities. No big deal.
