Unfortunately it had rained quite a bit and the roads were washed out. It was middle of July, but it seemed more like Spring runoff. I was in my pickup, high clearance, large tires, 4WD, but was sliding backwards and only about a quarter of the way up. Had to turn around.

Great way to enjoy the outdoors when it's too cold for camping. The stove kept us very warm and comfortable all night long (my thermometer hovered right around 60 degrees Fahrenheit as long as we kept the stove going). The other accommodations are basic, but adequate. Would stay there again.

Their isn’t very much snow so we were able to walk in without any snow shoes, but I can’t control the weather.

An excellent and well maintained yurt! I will recommend to anyone visiting in the summer or fall to take Forest Road 181 up to the yurt rather than Forest Road 278. 278 is very rough, even for a four wheel drive, high clearance vehicle.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Quiet, private, comfortable. 10/10
Be sure to take the summer road in the summer. 🤣

Group of young women made their first trip and all of them want to come back, possibly a new tradition. Only thing I would hope for differently would be a full griddle on the camp chef. Thanks!

Wood and kindling was chopped and waiting. Place was clean. Communication was quick and accurate. Definitely stay there again.

Broke trail, first in for the season.
Some thin coverage/bare spots but managed (watch for sharp rocks if you go thru the quarry).
Mattresses were comfy, most yurts that we’ve been to the mattresses are thin and need to double up to not feel the rails, didn’t need that with the sturdy bunk beds of Grizzly. Follow the guidelines for a smooth and enjoyable trip. And what lowlife would steal from the yurt/USFS?!?!? It’s public reservable property, don’t take away, leave it better than you found it. Thank you Rangers for all the help!

No water is available at the yurt; guests must bring their own supply. There is one large water pot in the yurt to boil water, but guests should bring extra cookware as desired. There should also be a 10" skillet and a medium sized pot for guests to use. These do occasionally go missing, so it is recommended to bring your own cookware in case. We do NOT provide other utensils such as spoons, forks, knives, bowls, plates, etc. |
