What Guests Are Saying
Monte Cristo is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained campground and attentive host, creating a pleasant camping experience. Visitors enjoyed the cooler temperatures, spacious sites, and opportunities for wildlife viewing. Some concerns included issues with specific campsite sizes for RVs, occasional biting flies, and the need for better water access and restroom cleanliness, but overall, many expressed a desire to return.

Always love a getaway at Monte Cristo ... host quickly informed us of the bear situation and checked in often. The restrooms were kept clean, other than the traffic on the road it is as always very peaceful.

The site was clean when I arrived. There was plenty of dry wood in the area that could be used as firewood, which is encouraged. The site keeper was very kind. There's running water at the site. I didn't experience any mosquitoes. The scenery is gorgeous. This is my favorite campsite to visit each year.

The camp host was great, the bathrooms nearby are clean, and there’s potable water. The campground overall was nice but not this specific site. It’s pretty open, not shaded, and right on top of the neighboring sites. Tent pad space was also confusing, should make it clear which site has which tent pad and there was some confusing when we were there

Site 6 is close to the bathrooms and running water was nice. However, site 6 is pretty slanted and open so it doesn’t feel like there’s a ton of privacy and tent and car camping is rough in this site.

The driveway is nice for a large table. However, this site is very close to site 7. Would not recommend tent camping here if you like privacy or unless you have family/friends stay at 7. Right next to the bathrooms so it was nice.

Great camp host. Water was running when we went so it was really nice to have. The bathrooms in loop A were very clean. Site 1 was secluded from other sites, had a nice shaded tent pad, large picnic table, and enough room for a large family to hang out in. Only downsides are the small car parking area, the camp fire fit needs to be cleaned out (filled to the brim with ashes and pile of ashes nearby), and the nearby road is pretty loud.
