The spot I had was very private, spacious and beautiful. Location is wonderful, however, next time I will visit in a month when the flies are not in constant attack mode, holy moly, I have never seen so many deer and black flies.

There was a camper running a generator all evening. They did shut down at 10 pm, but we were unable to enjoy hanging out by our camp fire for the evening, so it really poured cold water on our fall stay. It would be nice if this was a camping area where no generators were allowed.

I had a great time and, for the most part, I got everything I expected from the location. The pond was beautiful and the site was clean and I very much appreciated that the fire pit had a grill built into it - that made cooking a lot easier. There were two things that kept me from giving a higher score, though. 1) I did NOT realize that the site I chose had no vehicle access. I would have brought a cart if I realized my supplies needed to be hiked in a half-mile. This made firewood especially exhausting. More notice about the need for a cart would have been seriously appreciated. 2) Albeit a minor point, I was disappointed to find that the water pump advertised did not really work. Nothing more than a dribble and I really needed 3-4 hands to both pump and collect. I had a plan B but was hoping to refill water bladder from it and could not.
All that said, I enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend.

I underestimated the "walk-in" to the campsites. This is actually a hike. Closest site from the parking lot is 0.5 miles. People even used watercraft to transfer equipment to their site. This only works if the site is on the pond's edge. The campground gets very active during the weekend with day users. I am now more knowledgeable about the area and will be better prepared next time.

Very clean campsite right next to the water with a picnic table and fire ring. There is an outhouse not too far down the trail. One of my new favorite campsites. I will be returning!

Campsite #9 at Grout Pond is, in my opinion, the nicest campsite in an other wise gorgeous campground. I had a lovely visit and look forward to returning next year.

Excellent campground. Well-kept sites and easy access to the beautiful pond. Great trails. Our neighbors at the other walk-in sites were quiet and respectful. Facilities were clean. Reserved sites were clearly labeled as such. Wonderful spot.

Stayed here this past February. Despite there being snow, the road was plowed enough for us to be able to find a spot to park and set up camp for the night.
There was also plenty of parking for those looking to hike and xc-ski.
Overall, a great experience for winter camping!

Grout Pond is a hidden gem and was absolutely beautiful! Some of the best fall foilage in the state and bunches of gorgeous mushrooms to find along the way. The path around the lake very well maintained.
