The new 3pm check-in time is major change and we were not allowed to go in early, even though no one was in the site and only a handful of sites occupied in the whole park. We were told the site had to be inspected, mowed, and that all rangers had just started their hour lunch. It was 1:15pm.
So we waited, along with 6 other early arrivals, until 2pm when we were allowed in.
Our site had not been mowed nor had it been inspected. A ranger showed up to inspect it while we were setting up.

We stayed in site #09 in a 27 ft. class C Motorhome for 4 nights. Very level site. It is an “end” site with acceptable space between this site and the next. Very clean campground with friendly and dedicated staff. The restrooms were very clean each time we use them. The bath houses were updated. Cell service was very limited. Narrow bridge at the entry to the campground. They have widened the road before the bridge entrance so it is easier to get lined up with it. If you are towing a large trailer or have a large motorhome you should have a spotter to make sure you don’t clip the bridge. The bridge width is about 10 1/2 feet.
Overall, a great place to stay. We highly recommend.

Please put a stop on the ladies bathroom door up on the south side. We camped on site 18 and every time a lady opened or closed the door it banged!! Living in a tent you hear all sounds!! A simple fix....probably for the mens also.

Great location in a beautiful area, very peaceful with the sounds of the river always in the background. Spacious site, well kept, bathhouses clean with adequate warm water, plenty of hiking and bicycling in the area.

Lovely campground in Vermonts Green Mountains. Clean restroom, great hot showers. Loved cooling off in West River pool. Nearby day trips to Jamaica State Park and Ball Mountain Dam

From Brattleboro, Vermont, travel north on Vermont Route 30 for 30 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn right onto Vermont Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.
From Manchester, Vermont, travel east on Vermont Route 11 for 5 miles. Turn right onto Vermont Route 30 continue for 9 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn left onto Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.
Winhall Brook Camping Area is accessible via Vermont Route 30 and Vermont Route 100. It is located approximately 5 miles from Vermont Route 11.
Elevation: 324 feet
3.3 mi drive to downtown South Londonderry (about 20 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- Ball Mountain Lake is a flood control project. Occasional retention of floodwaters may inundate portions of Winhall Brook Camping Area. Any cancellations due to flood-related closures will be fully refunded.
- Cash/Checks are not accepted for any transaction, including use fees, firewood, and America the Beautiful passes.
- Any special event, gathering, or activity that may affect the atmosphere of the park must receive prior approval from park staff.
- A narrow, one-lane bridge must be crossed to access the south side of the camping area; vehicles must be 42 feet in length or less to cross (see pictures in gallery. The bridge weight limit is 16 tons.
- Firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site.
- Maximum of 6 adults and 2 tents/1 mobile unit per campsite. Six adults and children under 18 are covered by the site fee.
- Maximum of 10 people on a single campsite at any given time.
- Generator use is permitted only from , and from .
- Some sites are in close proximity to each other, offering reduced space and/or privacy. Please be aware and plan accordingly.N15 - N16L53 - L54S56 - S57
