It's nice to see that Winhall Brook is open again, and other than everything being new, hasn't seemed to change. I used to car-camp there in my 20s and 30s, and it was the first place I went camping with my now-wife. It manages to convey the feeling of being a low-usage remote campground, even though it has modern amenities.
If you're thinking of going here for the first time, be aware that site selection is important. Many of the sites are clustered into groups, with the groups separated by space and usually trees. This is great for groups camping together, maybe not so much for individuals. There are plenty of sites with more privacy, especially along the access roads. However, you might still be in for a surprise: we were in site S18, which the photo shows as a tree-lined entry (you _will_ brush the branches backing in), but is wide-open to site S19 and has a driveway to S17. Unfortunately, as of this review Google "satellite view" still shows the campground as washed-out, so isn't that helpful.
Also, for those with RV's, the dump station is scary: there's a big pipe that goes into a vault near-horizontally. Take the 90 off the end of your sewer hose, stretch it out, and slide it in as far as you can. Then give it a good washing afterward. There is a washing wand as well as a separate non-potable tap for flushing, and the dump station is two-sided, so that's nice.

Best campground ever. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. The grass sites make sleeping a tent much softer. The rangers are always nice and say hi. The river is such a peaceful place to relax and take a dip.

Beautiful site and campground. The bathroom and shower were very clean and looked new. The dishwashing station was incredible. Best campground we stayed at on our two week East Coast trip.

Everything was great glad you’re open again. Only problem was we couldn’t empty black tank because we couldn’t make the corner with our camper and truck would be great if it could be widened.

From Brattleboro, Vermont, travel north on Vermont Route 30 for 30 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn right onto Vermont Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.
From Manchester, Vermont, travel east on Vermont Route 11 for 5 miles. Turn right onto Vermont Route 30 continue for 9 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn left onto Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.
Winhall Brook Camping Area is accessible via Vermont Route 30 and Vermont Route 100. It is located approximately 5 miles from Vermont Route 11.

Policies & Rules
General
- Ball Mountain Lake is a flood control project. Occasional retention of floodwaters may inundate portions of Winhall Brook Camping Area. Any cancellations due to flood-related closures will be fully refunded.
- Cash/Checks are not accepted for any transaction, including use fees, firewood, and America the Beautiful passes.
- Any special event, gathering, or activity that may affect the atmosphere of the park must receive prior approval from park staff.
- A narrow, one-lane bridge must be crossed to access the south side of the camping area; vehicles must be 42 feet in length or less to cross (see pictures in gallery. The bridge weight limit is 16 tons.
- Firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site.
- Maximum of 6 adults and 2 tents/1 mobile unit per campsite. Six adults and children under 18 are covered by the site fee.
- Maximum of 10 people on a single campsite at any given time.
- Generator use is permitted only from , and from .
- Some sites are in close proximity to each other, offering reduced space and/or privacy. Please be aware and plan accordingly.N15 - N16L53 - L54S56 - S57
