What Guests Are Saying

Stoughton Pond Rec Area offers a great fishing experience, with visitors catching big bass and perch. The renovated pavilion and increased parking made it an excellent venue for family reunions. However, some children were disappointed by the weedy swimming area.

Thank you for an excellent place for our family reunion. It had been years since our last gathering at Stoughton Pond Pavilion and we found the renovations and increased parking were wonderful. although, the children were disappointed the water was full of weeds in the swimming area. We hope we may make this an annual event.

Love it here! Pavillion isn't too expensive to rent, everything is in good working condition. It is so pretty too, getting married here was a great choice!

Sand is covered in animal droppings, water is quite murky but it's relatively cool. Bathrooms and changing house which is great.

Very beautiful with scenic views. The beach is shallow and roped in, perfect for kids but there is no lifeguard so you do need to keep an eye on them. There is a breathtaking view of Mount Ascutney, and a bald eagle's nest close by, which allows you to see them flying through. Grills and picnic tables are maintained and in good condition. Bathrooms and changing rooms available, always clean. The area does get a lot of geese, and they leave droppings on the beach and beyond, but the Army Corps of Engineers maintain the park and have installed geese deterrent lights to minimize their effects. On busy days, the water gets dirty (sun screen floating on top, murky/muddy water) but on a normal day it's clear and refreshing. Kids can be mean and unfair on the beach and a lot of parents don't watch their children, but that is the only bad part.
