If you're looking for a place to haul your water toys to, or you want a beach front area to bring grandkids to, you'll love this campground! The surrounding waterways were busy with jet skis, motor boats, and pontoon boats during the weekend, and the beach was crowded with swimmers. By the time the stars came out Sunday night things quieted down to just campers and the occasional small boat angler. Make sure to run over to nearby Fairystone State Park and try finding some elusive fairystones. Great jumping off spot to tour Floyd, Mabry Mill and Meadows of Dan, and Blue Ridge Music Center.

We stayed in the upper campground. Spacious and reasonably level sites. Very clean and well kept. Note there are no lake views from the upper campground. If you want lakefront, camp in the lower campground.
If you are over 29 feet or if your trailer/Class C/Class A rides low then you are very likely to scrape on the multiple tight turns to access either campground

The beach parking lot, which you have to go through, heading into the campground was not labeled well for first time campers - also very narrow and luckily no cars where there when we went in, or we wouldn't have gotten through. The road was very narrow, concrete curb in the middle of the campground on a sharp curve was awful! Not suitable for large 5th wheels (ours is 36.5' and had to run tires up on the concrete curb). Trees close to the road not good for swing of truck backing in.
Bathrooms were nice, site was nice and spacious - but we would not return as long as the roads were what they are now.

The spots you offered are in areas that I had stuff time getting into on a new way road and could never make the turn to get out of so had to go wrong way to leave . The volunteer I spoke to should have known this when we spoke on phone .and the upper area doesn't have showers and had to go down to building but the dump stations which I couldn't use because I could not turn around from being up top if I was down in the lower sites would have been better but you don't no going on line or talking to the volunteer then need more training and knowledge of what there there to do. The boat area was nice and the fishing pear was in a nice location and good time fishing. I guess over all the place is not bad unless you get the upper area above the gate house.

We had spent a very peaceful 5 days with our 33 ft RV and Bass boat at Site 16. The view is very beautiful and opens right up to the water. The campground staff are very professional and friendly and the campground is clean. Very little noise at all just nature. The only thing to keep in mind if you visit is that alot of the sites are downhill (including Site 16). Be prepared to have to spend some time leveling (even using autoleveling jacks like we were we still had to use the plastic risers to assist). Great place for pets, children, and familys. Would stay there again anytime.
