A beautiful campground! Such a beautiful view from every direction. We had lot 29 and were very happy. Don’t forget to fill up with water first in November. My only complaint was that the dump station was closed so we had to go to Gairy stone campground and pay 10.00 to use theirs.

great location . getting to the site with 40' RV is tricky . will prefer to have water supply at the sites in the winter as well.

Had a wonderful experience, and usually do! My family goes here every year at least once to camp. Always a good experience! I personally loved camping more this year because they restricted the grounds to just campers due to covid. Usually the campground is too crowded between campers and day users.... even though I enjoy it everytime we go.... this year seemed extra special due to the feeling of being not over crowded or cramped!

Campground is well taken care of, Rangers patrol regular not a lot of noise like other parks. Will be visiting in 2021.

I liked it a lot better when it was first come first serve and you paid with cash........don't like how they make you reserve spots now and pay by credit or debit card.

Goose Point Recreation area is a beautiful place, even in November! We were surprised how many other campers were there.
Our site was right on the lake this time and so we enjoyed the view. Our site had electricity. Water at the site was off but a central spigot remained open so we could fill our tank. Rain meant this stay was a bit like being holed up in a cottage on the English coast.
Although Recreation.gov said that there was no water at the dump station, it did not say that the dump station was closed. In fact it was closed so even using our own water to clean up after dumping out tanks was not an option. This was unfortunate since we planned this trip as our last before winterizing our travel trailer. The solution was to go to nearby Fairy Stone State Park where we could pay $10 to dump.
We will certainly return to this wonderful campground.

From HWY 220, take the Bassett, VA exit onto HWY 57 West. Go approximately 10 miles to Goose Point Road. Look for brown Goose Point Park sign, turn right, then go 5 miles on a paved road to the park entrance.
Goose Point is accessible from HWY 220 via the Bassett exit, connecting to HWY 57 West.
Elevation: 323 feet
12 mi drive to downtown Bassett (about 20 min)

General
- Access road and park roads are hilly, winding and narrow and may be difficult for larger RVs to navigate.
- Two vehicles are allowed per campsite.
- A fee of $7/day will be charged for extra vehicles at the campground.
- Park gates closed
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
