About Morris Hill Campground

Morris Hill is a peaceful, rustic campground for groups of family and friends. The family campground is a family-friendly destination perched on a ridge above Lake Moomaw. Kids can have fun at the playground while older generations sit back and relax in the shade. The group sites accommodate up the 25 guests with space for up to eight tents. Campers can enjoy the wonders of camping with simple pleasures like s'mores on the campfire, berry picking in the woods, and watching for waterfowl and wildlife like deer. The convenient location near Lake Moomaw and sandy swim beaches, a fishing pier, boat ramp, and hiking and biking trails makes Morris Hill a popular spot.

What Guests Are Saying

Morris Hill Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained camping experience, with friendly hosts and spacious sites that provide some privacy. Wonderful spot with great management. We had been to a lot of family camping spot but this was one of best. Peaceful neighbours, great hiking trails and beautiful sites to explore like meemow lake, Beach point and Falls nearby.

Loved the campsite itself. Sadly some of the other guests wanted to party all night long, loud music and singing and loud talking. Camp host no where to be found. Not the first time. Bottom line don’t come here in the summer if you want any peace and quiet.

This was a great camp ground. We had plenty of room for all our equipment to fit and still room to play. Really nice fire pit and picnic table. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Nice play ground with slide and swings. Over all nice place and we will stay there again.

I was unable to reserve a campsite for more than one day with the online tool due to a glitch in the system. I figured I could extend my stay by visiting the camp attendant but he told me it could only be done online. There is no internet there!!!! So, if you decide to stay an extra day, you cant unless you drive to a place with internet. (Which is no where close), I will not be back, the site is too remote to be stuck in the woods without a campsite and the local rangers/caregivers wont help you.

We absolutely loved this site. Our camp site was well set up and well designed. The tent pad was a generous size. The fire pit and grill grate was clean and solidly constructed. The full size picnic table was actually really comfortable. The bath house was clean and fully stocked, the shower was pleasant. Close to a nice place to fish and to swim. Would definitely book there again.
