Very quiet and peaceful. Arrived in time for an evening walk and enjoyed the beautiful views. The campsites were well spaced and very clean. We did not use any of the facilities.

The campground is pretty, but sites are very narrow for campers and there should be a disclaimer that sites on the left side of the road require your camper to open towards the street rather than the grassy area, as it is too narrow to turn around anywhere. Showers are a drive and outside the campground and are a whopping $2.50 for 5 minutes and the showers in the men's and women's bathrooms were disgustingly dirty. Campsite bathrooms were much cleaner. Water access is sparse through the campground too. We ended up having to fill up gallon jugs in the utility sink near the bathroom. Other than these unusual inconveniences, the trees were beautiful and the deer were everywhere. It was a generally enjoyable stay.

Been camping in Loft Mountain since I was a baby in the 80’s. My fave campground on the east coast.

Loft Mountain is a beautiful campground with spacious campsites and beautiful views. It is distant from some services (gas, propane)

The campground location and essential amenities are great for what we want to do at Loft Mountain. We like to hike, view nature, and relax with a simple camping experience. We enjoy the views at Loft, and the proximity of easy access to many hiking trails. There is a well-stocked camp store within walking distance of the campground, and all the basics are there if needed. The bathrooms are fine. Pay showers are fine. If what you want is a non-electric, quiet old-style campground without noisy neighbors, this would be a great choice!

E142 NOT SUITABLE FOR A TENT! The only area available to put a tent had a number of large rocks. You’ll either damage your tent or sleep with a boulder in your back.

Really enjoyable campground with lots of privacy in many of the sites. The bathrooms were clean and the camp store was stocked. The campground is absolutely silent at night and despite the fact that it was very cold, we couldn't hear any generators during the generator-allowed hours. Lots of deer around the campsites. Highly recommend!

I love Loft Campground!! Still needs some maintenance like most federal campgrounds but adding bear boxes which is great!!! The guy at the check in was really nice. The camp store still one of the best stocked in Shenandoah. Showers are very clean and hot water!!!! The AT runs right on the perimeter so you have access to great hiking without leaving the campground. My favorite campground in Shenandoah.
