Loft Mountain is a beautiful campground. What stands out is the amazing female host that stood out in the wind and pelting rain to help people at the entrance. The whole mountains was fogged in, but there she was welcoming people that made the hour drive up in the fog. Thank you.

Campground is great but avoid this campsite. This is very small and uneven. No food lockers as well.

The campground is well maintained and is neat. There are plenty of trails to follow. The Doyle river and jones river are great places to trek.
The campsite is something that you should avoid. this is very small and has no food locker as well. Furthermore it is in a place where you will find a good place to pitch the tent. better avoid this site

We stay at Loft Mountain for at least a couple of days every year. It is always an enjoyable time. We have always found the facilities well maintained; and for the most part the sites are better separated from each other than at Big Meadows. There are several great hikes within just a few miles up or down Skyline Drive.

There is adequate spacing between sites in this pleasant campground full of songbirds. The rest rooms are clean & well maintained but we did not use the showers or even look at them as they are a long walk from the campground. We really appreciated the "utility sink" for dish water disposal. We were in site G191 in a 25 foot travel trailer & found it challenging to get level but we managed. It would be hard for larger rigs in most sites but we saw a few. It is mostly tent campers. Up on a ridge, the wind blew hard almost the whole time we were there. The staff was friendly & helpful at check-in. When trying to decide which campground, consider which trails you want to hike as this campground is down toward the lower end of the park and many of the most popular trails are in the northern end. Drive time between trail heads and the visitor centers is significant, but of course quite scenic. Overall, this is a great campground.
