Loft Mountain Campground is praised for its spacious layout, cleanliness, and beautiful views, making it a great spot for group camping and hiking. Campground staff are noted for being friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. While some sites may not be level and the shower facilities require payment, the positives, including wildlife sightings and well-maintained restrooms, contribute to a memorable camping experience.

Loft Mountain Campground was great. The park rangers were very helpful and friendly. The campsites are taken care of and the camp store was great and fully stocked with gear and food. The bathrooms were fairly clean but could use a little attention. The sink in utility room is great for rinsing dishes, accept we didn’t discover this until day 2. I didn’t associate “utility room” with a sink/wash area. Overall, we had a great time with great access to trails, waterfalls, and lots of wildlife. Wonderful experience!

Multiple large groups making noise until 3AM both nights we were there. Zero enforcement by SNP, overall a very miserable experience. Zero enforcement by SNP staff.

Campsite extremely small and located adjacent to bathrooms and showers. I’ve requested a refund twice and still nothing.

Our campsite (D108) was the perfect size, offering a little bit of privacy as well. The bear cages are a good touch and very spacious. Nice fire pit, and firewood at the Campstore is $10 for a decent sized bundle. We attended an educational ranger talk at the amphitheater next to the most beautiful view at sunset! Easy walk to clean bathrooms, amphitheater, and the Appalachian Trail.

The campground was clean and well ran. However our group felt the showers were quite expensive ($5/10mins) for a mediocre experience. Otherwise well mapped and easy to navigate. Will likely return!

This was my first trip to Loft Mountain. I was interested in how it compared to Big Meadows. Big Meadows campground is open with big trees, here you are in a thicker forest setting with more privacy. They have the same amenities here as Big Meadows, but they are a little further away. Fewer showers and clothes washers. The camp store here has food so you do not have to go to the wayside unless you want the restaurant. No bugs or insects during my visit.

Nice campground, is slightly more rustic than big meadow. Zero cell service (tmobile) at site, decent service 50 feet away. Bathroom clean. No shower in bathroom, did have pay showers at camp store.
