Such an incredible place. We have plans to return in the future. Our campsite had an apple tree on it which attracted a family of deer while we were there. If you're up for a strenuous hike, Old Rag is so worth the drive from Loft mountain campground. There is so much to do around, I can't wait to return and stay longer to explore more.

I’m normally not a big fan of camping in National Parks because of the high density and close proximity between each site, but Loft Mountain has many campsites that are tucked away into a small section of trees that make it feel pretty secluded. Additionally, Loft Mountain has some campsites with great views, which is very nice. I love Loft Mountain, and I’ll definitely return.

Really enjoyed our stay at Loft Mountain Campground. Convenient, clean, restrooms. Nice access to hiking trails, no need to drive out. Campground host very nice, they were across from our site (E148). Our site was a little on a slope, next time we will choose a flatter driveway/site. Disappointed that the Loft Mountain Wayside wasn’t open for food service, we have always stopped there in past years.

Best place to camp in Virginia on Skyline drive. Quiet, spacious, clean, and relaxing. Hiking trails within walking distance and beautiful mountaintop views.
