Well maintained campground with plenty of shade. Campsites are spacious and usually not very crowded. Would recommend this Park for an off the beaten path experience!! Steeped in history with plenty to do (nice visitors center, overlooks, miles of hiking, with cave and old settlement tours).

Cumberland Natl Pk is one of the best historic parks. The staff at the Visitor ctr are excellent and know their history. We hiked all the trails and took the Hensley Settlement tour and the Cave tour. Both were above average because the guides were so entertaining. Also the park was never crowded. It is a true gem.

Signage for dumpster stations or something closer to shower houses would be good. I walked a lot looking with load of trash.

Park was OK. Showers, bathrooms, and trail access are all phenomenal. Plenty of firewood throughout the park to use.
When felling trees, the trees and debris should be moved away from the campsites, however, as I walked around the park I noticed many trees were fell right next to picnic tables, tent locations, and sometimes the driveway of the site which guests are supposed to use; kinda difficult with big rotting trees laying next to them.
Camphost was rude. My dog barks occasionally as people walk by, never incessantly, however, the camp host decided she wanted to tell me I need to control my dog's barking as she 'heard him barking all morning.' Uhm, there were like 5-6 dogs in that park many of which barked continuously. I informed her I would not be 'controlling' my dog's barking because A. he's a dog B. he doesn't bark enough to control it, it's already under control!
As someone that travels around the country from park to park, place to place, I will not be going back to this park. Great for a one or two night stent but I won't be camping there again.

Beautiful location, felt far away but not too remote. We hiked to Skylight Cave, nice moderate hike through beautiful woods. There are multiple hiking options very close, rails to trails multi use path close by, historic town within a couple of miles with nice coffee shop and a few stores as well as a bicycle museum.
Campground had two loops with electric hookup but many sites aren't very level.

Site was really nice; paved and level. We missed having water on the site. Would be nice if there was more than one dump station. We were with a group of dulcimer players and enjoyed playing for other campers. One rainy day we were invited to play at the visitors center. Gave a us a dry place to play and had lots of listeners there.
