Very comfortable campground. It's next to a road, which means easy access, and the road isn't *terribly* loud... so THAT'S good! I found a trail yesterday that led away from the road, and it became very serene and beautiful! I was so glad i went on that walk! I didn't click the kid friendly option on the review because the creek is fairly deep and fast flowing (at least, in mid-April). If you watch your kids, it would be a great place to bring them! And the road so close was the reason this for 4 stars, instead of 5.

Pricing is higher than what is posted online. Seems to have been raised about $5-$10.
The creek is wonderful! We stayed for 3 nights during the Hurricane Debbie storm. It was amazing, quite the adventure! We hiked up stream the first day and played around in the little bit of water the creek had to offer. It was in extreme drought condition. However after the storm it was significantly higher, with much louder & swifter currents. Too dangerous to get into. We were the only campers there on our 3 nights. Staff is helpful and nice. Working Bathhouse with toilets (flushing) and hot showers. A small library available. Most all sites have a table, fire pit, and wire grill top to use on top of fire to cook.
I would recommend this campground.

Pam was extremely helpful and accommodating for our group! We went tubing at FRO and straight into our group campsite under the bridge after. The location is perfect and everything I was looking for.
We had no cell service (the goal was to keep everyone off their phones), plenty of room for our vehicles + 6 tents + 1 hammock + stand up grill and firewood available for purchase on site.
The showers, bathroom and sink for dishes were EXTREMELY helpful. Those that complain about the quality of these should stick to KOAs, these are a luxury when thinking of independently owned campsites.
We were prepared to hear vehicles on the bridge, so it did not bother us at all, our group site was very private, and we were able to enjoy being away from others. The main firepit sits under a clearing surrounded by trees, perfect for star gazing while sitting by the fire.
The only downside we had was looking for a place to properly dispose of our garbage, we didn't want to cause overflow in the trash cans.
Other than that, everything was great, and we loved it! Thank you, Pam.

This was a disappointment for us. We're very used to primitive camping. We have 600w of solar and 200amh of lithium, so we're very capable of being off grid. But when I booked it, I guess I didn't ask the right questions. They have sites with water and electricity, but that's not what we're wanting. We specifically got this camper so that we don't have to be connected. I made the mistake of assuming that since they have water and electric sites that I'd be able to get some water so we can do dishes, flush the toilet, and small little water uses like that. But nope. We booked a primitive site and they wouldn't allow us to get any water. At $25, you'd think I'd be able to get some water. The camp is very small, very tight, but even though we're a truck camper we're pretty big. The creek running behind most of the sites is very pretty and relaxing! That's the best part of this campground. Oh.... Nothing could be done about it... But the road noise from the big elevated bridge that runs right through camp is.... Well.... It's noise.

Beautiful setting on the creek and in a great location relative to Shenandoah, but that’s about where it ends.
As many reviewers mention, the vehicle sounds driving on the overhead bridge are relentless and really take away from it all. It’s way louder than you expect. I would’ve heard less cars had I camped in my own backyard.
Although I don’t have very high expectations or even need bathroom facilities while camping, these weren’t as expected based on other reviewers. They were far from clean. Yes, the water was hot and 1 of the toilets flushed. Just make sure you “poop” in the right one.
More concerning than the facilities, Pam did not seem to like having kids in her campground. We had 5 children in our group under 10. They are all respectful, well-behaved children, but she managed to make them feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She told them she didn’t want them riding their bikes “all over the place” and that they should stay in their campsite. They all ended up being scared of her yelling at them instead of exploring.
Overall, we still had a good time and made lots of memories, but this review is for the campground itself. I believe this place was probably very nice at one time, and maybe will be again someday…. but for now, you can find something better for the same price.
