Campground was well-run and clean, with sufficient amenities (showers, store, bathrooms, etc). Staff were friendly. Only issue was on one of our three nights a large loud group partied nearby until 4am. Rangers addressed them first thing in the morning, but not overnight while it was happening.

Campground was great, and our campsite was even better. It was away from the road and surrounded by brush so it gave it a more primitive and secluded feeling.

Big Meadows is clean and well organized. I had no trouble with noise. The bathrooms were well lit and even had hot water.

Great hiking on the Appalachian trail plus a visit to the Rapidan Camp.

Excellent campground and our camp site was also great. Good southern exposure for solar panels and good northern view for you Starlink customers. But not a breath of cellular service on either Verizon nor AT&T! My WeBoost was no help, either. However, the Lodge is less than a mile away and had great WiFi in a comfortable lounge. This was helpful when planning our day or checking the weather.
We didn’t use the showers which are located outside the main campground loops, but the bathrooms were spotless.
Big Meadows is centrally located and convenient to many of the most popular areas. A great spot.

I love this NP and Big Meadows campground. We stayed in a TT for 2 weeks, we found plenty of hikes and went to the lodge a couple of times for Starbucks, dinner and just to sit in front of the fireplace. The rangers are very helpful, the deer are extremely abundant, the fall foliage was beautiful 😍

This is a nice campground in a national park. The sites are very close together allowing for the maximum number of people to enjoy the park. The trails out of the park were easy to find and very well marked. The toliet facilities were climate controlled and very clean.

Beautiful campground. Great to have paid shower & flushable toilets close by. Saw deer on the way to bathhouse at night. Very quiet. I wish the gal checking us in would have asked if we had a park pass because we found out at Loft Mountain campground that we would have gotten 1/2 off the price!

Big Meadows is a great location. With nearby visitor center, wayside grocery and eatery, and gas. Even though it is a very large campground, we felt like we had enough privacy and quiet hours were enforced. Deer wander the campground which is nice but can get the dogs barking! The campground bathrooms were very clean. The camp showers at $5 are a little pricey. Firewood is also more expensive than any campground we have been to but I the quality of the firewood was good. Overall we would stay there again but try for a non generator area campsite since we have a small teardrop and use solar panels.
