Had a wonderful time at this campground. Beautiful grounds. We stayed July 1-5. Very quiet and isolated. Nice access to the James River. Bathhouse was clean. I would suggest a shelf close to shower to place your shampoo and such on. Can’t wait to go back when it’s a little cooler to visit some of the trails we saw.

We LOVED the wilderness at Belmead!!! It seemed weird at first it was like a scavenger hunt to find the spot after you enter their gate. But once you find it you win the game!!! And the prize! We were the only ones there. It’s a huge open field with spots to the back of it. There’s a covered bathhouse with tables outside of it and a BBQ. Then behind it there’s a small cabin I think you can reserve too.
We were surrounded by forest and fields of corn! Birds everywhere. Firefly’s at night. And even some occasional deer would come into the field. It was beautiful.
