We did not stay in the cabin as planned because of the poor condition the cabin was in upon arrival. It was a 95 degree day and not all windows would open, so the lack of cross-ventilation made it extremely uncomfortable inside the cabin. The cabin didn't look as clean and as well kept up as in the pictures, and there were a few holes in the walls (not big enough to help with ventilation, but big enough to wonder why they hadn't been repaired), and there was a big hole at the bottom of the door large enough to let critters in. We are used to roughing it in tents and camping cabins, but this just wasn't suitable for a relaxing stay. We didn't have our dog with us, but we were surprised upon seeing the cabin that there's a "no dogs" policy given the state it's in. We thought that would perhaps be an indication of upkeep, but it wasn't. We had also missed that there would be just one central fire ring for all the cabins, and hadn't realized from the map how the cabins were all in a circle facing each other rather than having any kind of privacy.

From Washington, D.C., and points north, take I-95 south to exit 150-B toward VA Route 619/Joplin Road. The park entrance is the second right. Cabin Camp 3 is 2 miles from the park entrance along Scenic Drive.
From Fredericksburg, Virginia, and points south, take I-95 north to exit 150 toward VA Route 619/Joplin Road. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp and continue on VA Route 619 West approximately 1/4 mile to the park entrance.
Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are approximately 45 minutes drive-time from Prince William Forest Park. Baltimore/Washington International Airport and Richmond International Airport are 90 minutes away.
There is no bus service near the park. Local commuter buses may be available near the park via the PRTC system. Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express services are available in nearby Quantico, Virginia, approximately 5 miles from the park entrance. There is no public transportation directly to the park.
Cabin Camp 3 is accessible via I-95, with exit 150-B leading to VA Route 619/Joplin Road, approximately 2 miles from the park entrance.

Policies & Rules
General
- A maximum of 2 vehicles per reservation. THESE ARE WALK IN CABINS Parking is limited in the main parking lot area. Vehicles are parked in a central parking lot. Campers must walk to the cabins from between 550 feet/152 m (A Unit) and 900 feet/274 m (B Unit). Wheeled carts may be available to help with personal items.
- Entrance Fee. Prince William Forest Park charges an entrance fee separate from cabin fees. You may pay the fee upon arrival at the entrance station or purchase in advance. The park also honors valid America the Beautiful-the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands passes (also known as an interagency passes, e.g., Senior, 4th Grade, Military, etc.). - Fires and Firewood. Fires are not permitted outside of the provided grills. Firewood may or may not be available in the campground; If you bring your own firewood, it must be USDA certified ''bug-free'' firewood. Visit don'tmovefirewood.org.
- Age Limit. You must be 18 years of age or older to obtain a Cabin Camp permit.
- Maximum Stay. The maximum stay is 14 nights during a calendar year. Visitors can apply for a waiver for additional nights camping.
- No Food Concessions. Food concessions are not permitted in the park
- No Pets. No pets are allowed in the historic cabins (except service animals).
- No Smoking. Smoking is not permitted in any of the cabins or buildings.
- No tents or other structures. Camping tents, screen tents or other structures are not permitted in the cabin camp.
- No Moving Furniture. Removal or moving of picnic tables, beds, or mattresses is prohibited.
- No Electric Appliances. Electrical appliances (stoves, AC units, heaters, etc.) are prohibited.
- Property Damage. Vandalism of cabins and other buildings is against federal law and subject to stiff fines and/or prosecution.
