Cabin Camp 3

Maybe I missed it but I have rented cabins before and this one did not feel safe, underneath the cabin it is open and no glass only screens and shutters on the windows, if you are going in a big group you should be fine be I know I would not have been able to sleep standing guard over my family. It is very rustic with a campfire and bathrooms about 150yrds away. but it was not for me. We ended up rented a hotel room

Nowhere on the site did it list the check-in time, so I reserved a cabin for a daytime park exploration and a place to bed down at night. (it was a cabin reservation). It was only AFTER paying that I found out that I could not check-in to the cabin until 3PM, which means there was nowhere to stash the gear, nor time to set up camp before dark. So, we drove all the way out, looked around, and left without spending any time in the park. It's not a hotel. If check-in is at 3PM, that means the vast majority of the time a "stay" is scheduled for is in darkness, with a fraction of it in the daylight. It makes absolutely no sense. Check IN should be as early as NOON at the latest. Also, for the weeks leading up to the stay I was unable to get a hold of the "contact". I never received a return call, and attempted to call over 50 times in a 3-week period to avoid this, to no avail. There is no point in having a voicemail if they are never going to use it to return calls.

Overall experience was great and we all had a fantastic time, the site was clean and comfortable. A few of the windows/ screens did not secure, or able to be secured due to missing latches. The only other thing we be having actual fireplace at the cabins would be nice instead of the small grills

It's big and spacious.

Know what to expect if you get to the park after dark. The visitors center closes at 5 and the park isn't well marked, so I wasn't even able to find my cabine.

When we arrived the cabin was filthy. It was full of spiders, missing half the screens. The mattresses were covered in dust and dirt. We we so appalled we didn’t even stay, we went and got a hotel room. If they are going to rent the cabins, they should at least clean them before people check in.

I would have rated excellent except for two things. One we arrived at night and had a difficult time finding the camp site. You need a map in the parking area of the campground not the whole park. Two, we rented the cabin because it had an outlet for electricity. One of our groups has a cpap machine to sleep, but the outlet was not working and the circuit breaker box was locked.

The cabin was pretty clean and in good condition when we arrived, and it was cozy and dry overnight while it poured rain outside. The cots were comfortable. The campground in general was spacious and clean. The bathrooms were clean. Parking was a little rough because people were not honoring the 2-car limit but we managed. The lack of a grill at Cabin 3 was a little inconvenient but we borrowed our neighbor's at Cabin 4 since no one was there. Would definitely camp at Camp 3A again! If Cabin 3 had a grill we'd def grab this particular one again too.

Quite, well maintained, and the trails are unmatched in the area.

This was a great place to take the family! It was nice to have a place to go and feel safe and secure. I will say there are lots of spiders and next time I will come more prepared for dealing with the dust and spiders. But overall we had an amazing experience and would recommend this 10 out of 10!
