Spacious site, clean bathrooms and nicely located in the park. There were some partying 20-somethings keeping us up at night - would have been nice for the camp host or ranger to step in for quiet hour enforcement.

Impressively private considering how close to the city it is. Facilities were great. Campsites were a little close together, but the vegetation helped add separation. My only complaint was that there was no firewood for sale. I would definitely recommend this for a fun weekend camping trip! Lots of flat room for tents and pop-ups. Picnic tables were in great shape, made of composite, so no risk for splinters. Trails accessible from camp sites were great!

Great stay. I stayed at A19 and stayed from Thursday to Saturday for a short trip with my 3 yo daughter. The check-in process was incredibly easy. Someone who works there drove around and marked us off as checked in.
The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. They have full flush porcelain toilets. There are also showers available. They looked very clean, although we did not use them for our short trip.
There was a modest amount of wood that could be collected for firewood immediately around our campsite, but you would probably be better off picking up some downed branches on your drive into the park. From the entrance that we arrived at it was about a 15 drive to the campsite. It is a gorgeous drive, and there are plenty of large enough downed branches to use.
One commenter mentioned that they were woken up by gunfire from Quantico. I feel like they must have tremendously great hearing. There is some gun fire in the background here and there, but if you ever lived on a military base, it is no different. Or maybe if you ever live near an outdoor gun range. Sounds more like freedom ringing to me.
Just in keeping in good faith of an honest review, if I had to find a negative, I would say that the fire ring could have been a little bit bigger. If you had a group of more than 6 people, I would imagine you would want a larger fire.
All in all, a great stay. I would absolutely stay here again.

The camp itself is excellent. Clean, not too close to each other, and the facilities are well maintained! Some sites were like a swamp but the Park Rangers were very helpful and found me another site!

GPS devices will sometimes try to take you on closed gravel service roads to the campground. The only vehicle entrance to the campground is through the main park entrance on VA 619/Joplin Road. Try using 18511 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA 22172 to get to the main park entrance and following signs in the park to the campground.
From Washington, D.C., and points north, take I-95 south to exit 150-B toward VA Route 619/Joplin Road. The park entrance is the second right. It is an additional 15-20 minute drive from the park entrance to Oak Ridge Campground.
From Fredericksburg, Virginia, and points south, take I-95 north to exit 150 toward VA Route 619/Joplin Road. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp and continue on VA Route 619 West approximately 1/4 mi to the park entrance.
Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are approximately 45 minutes drive-time from Prince William Forest Park. Baltimore/Washington International Airport and Richmond International Airport are 90 minutes away.
There is no bus service near the park. Local commuter buses may be available near the park via the PRTC system. Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express services are available in nearby Quantico, Virginia, approximately 5 mi from the park entrance. There is no public transportation directly to the park.
Oak Ridge Campground is accessible via I-95, with exit 150-B providing access to VA Route 619/Joplin Road, which leads to the main park entrance.
