About Oak Ridge Campground

Oak Ridge Campground is a 100-site, wooded campground located in Prince William Forest Park, 35 mi (34.8 mi) southwest of Washington, DC. The park's land was set aside during the Great Depression, and in 1935 the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) began restoring the previously over-farmed acreage, converting it to recreational lands for public use. The CCC built trails, dams and cabins, making the park a wonderful place for recreation and relaxation. Large group camping is not permitted at Oak Ridge Campground. Our second time staying at this campground and enjoyed it so much! We saw an awesome campsite that was unoccupied and the host was so kind to help us switch. Lots of privacy and beautiful in the fall.

The app was so difficult to use from the campground; it was crazy, I had to drive a few miles out to town to communicate on the app, I accidently paid for two different campsites, and not notified about my refund, I finally got it squared away when I drove about ten miles to Walmart to go online and reserve a campsite. Oh well technology might make your work easier, but camping is a lot more difficult. I can't recommend this campground to my friends, but if you like privacy and don't mind hassles like this? You decide.

The Oak Ridge Campground is an excellent location for cycling! After setting up my RV, I hop on my bike and do laps in the park. Each lap is about 9-miles with hills and light traffic, which makes it a great place to train. The camp host is very accommodating and customer-focused. I'm looking forward to my next visit!!!

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
