About Oak Ridge Campground

Oak Ridge Campground is a 100-site, wooded campground located in Prince William Forest Park, 35 mi (34.8 mi) southwest of Washington, DC. The park's land was set aside during the Great Depression, and in 1935 the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) began restoring the previously over-farmed acreage, converting it to recreational lands for public use. The CCC built trails, dams and cabins, making the park a wonderful place for recreation and relaxation. Large group camping is not permitted at Oak Ridge Campground. Great stay in the woods as always. Only had one problem neighbor who liked her music loud, but that was only one night of many staying out there, so no big deal. Bathrooms with showers in B were clean as usual and conveniently located. Looking forward to going out in the fall.

Nice campsite. Private. Clean and ready for us. Clean and convenient bathrooms. Utility sink for dishes, but I wish it was higher. You have to bend way over to rinse dishes. The park is great with many nice trails and historic and geological sites.

Lovely campsite, well maintained. Nice mix of amenities (picnic table, fire pit, bathroom w/ potable water) without too many bells and whistles. Appreciate the staff on hand. Wish I could have stayed longer.

The grounds were as clean as nature can be, and the sites around for hiking were great. I was also impressed by the bathroom and SHOWER facilities, both exceptionally clean. Could just be me but ive never had either where ive gone before so it was a pleasant surprise. Also we weren't bothered at all by other campers (not to mention people that use RV's are seperated from those who want a real camping experience haha) or forest patrol lile iv'e seen some people say. In fact when i first arrived we were greeted by a kind gentleman who helped us get the lay of the land and with anything else we needed. Overall the Oak Ridge campgrounds were everything i could have imagined, highly reccomend.
