Nice weather; leaves starting to change; campsite was large and not crowded. Brought my bike and rode around the park. C sites are tent only, which I like.

this is a well-maintained campground; our campsite was at the end of the C loop so pretty far from the others (and from the bath house!)

This is a nice campground. I’ll be coming back. The grounds were nice, the bathrooms and showers were clean and it’s a beautiful park. I made my trip after Labor Day and during the week and had the grounds to myself so it was pretty much empty and very quiet. I enjoyed my stay and saw quite a few deer. I usually don’t like public campgrounds and wouldn’t use this during the busy season but during the off season it’s perfect. I want to stress how immaculate the grounds and public restrooms were.

Very nice campground close to Arlington, VA. Our kids ages 6 and 11 loved all the rocks they found in the creek during our hike in the laurel trail. The sites are spaced out (perfect during COVID). We did not use the showers since we were only there for 1 night. The fire pit is a grill as well so we were able to grill steaks around 6 p.m and then at night roast marshmallows. Bring a brush to clean the grill. Bring bikes or scooters so the kids can go around the paved loop. It does get quite dark during the fall so bring at least two lanterns. We stayed at campsite B11.

The grounds are very clean and the trails were very peaceful. Most of the sites are right on top of each other, there was little privacy, and no one adhered to quiet hours: children screaming, car doors slamming at midnight, and I woke up to a car alarm going off at 6 am my last day there. I realize it's not wilderness backpacking/camping, but the volume of noise from all sides the duration of our trip was a bummer, to say the least. There was also an event of some kind going on across the way the night we stayed there so you could hear the thumping, upbeat music from the bass carrying through the trees until well after midnight. I would suggest to anyone staying to check local events nearby if you're going camping to get away from loud neighbors. It seemed, too, when we arrived that people were not adhering to the check-out time of 11:30 either, but luckily it didn't interfere with our site. Our site was B9, which was private on one side, but very small. It had rained the night before and the rain had pooled into a muddy puddle in the only good place to set up our tents, but luckily we had tarps. The fire pit and picnic table were too close together, but at least the bathroom wasn't far. The bathrooms were clean, though, and everyone we encountered was friendly. The only time I saw a park ranger was at the park's entrance and a drive-by later that evening, but other than that, no interactions with them at all. All that said, I still enjoyed my trip. I plan to go back when it's cooler and book a different site in hopes of a more peaceful experience.
