What Guests Are Saying
Holiday Trav-L-Park is a beloved family campground known for its fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and engaging activities for kids, making it a popular choice for repeat visitors during holiday weekends. The campground offers a variety of amenities, including pools, playgrounds, and a cafe, all in close proximity to the beach and local shopping. While some guests noted issues such as maintenance concerns and occasional rude staff, the overall experience is positive, especially for those seeking a lively, family-oriented environment.

Helloooooooo, our favorite campground! So favorite, that we come here - EVERY - Memorial, 4th of July and Labor weekends! Why? Because - $$$$$$$$ is the best in town, FUN atmosphere! Very family oriented ... lil's running and riding all around ... golf carts with happy families with laughter and smiles ... and depending on when you're at the campground ... the golf carts can be very festive for Memorial, 4th, labor day and especially the whole month of October for Halloween! The staff is super friendly -- except DO NOT accidentally go into their 'living quarters' ... they mean it when they say DO NOT ENTER -- hehehehehe ... understandable. MY FAVORITE is Gerald --- NICEST, most helpful person EVER! June is great too, but I talk with Gerald the most - wink wink. We are, like many others ... repeat customers ... we camp here all the way through NEW YEARS! Very relaxing - quiet after 11am when you're ready to shut your eyes for the night. Back to fun and laughter the next day. Close to everything - the BEACH, restaurants, activities, convenient stores and Walmart --- what more can you want? See you soon Holiday Trav-L ... already booked my season this year!

I do so much traveling and I live about fifteen minutes from here. We love the idea of getting away from town but we don't... Why leave when we already know this is by far the best campground in every way. Kids are never bored. The grown ups are having way more fun than I ever see anywhere else. Laundry cafe pools even in winter and live music often!

We come here often with friends, and it is always a bit of culture shock. We are very used to staying in state parks with big sites, respectful fellow campers, and calm. If you are looking for a campground with a party atmosphere, don't mind golf carts with LED lights and blaring music throughout the day and night, and don't mind being 15 ft from your neighbor, this is the place for you. They also have a LOT of things for kids- pool, playground, activities, a bonus for sure for those with the 13 and under crowd. If you are hoping for a quiet, calm, get back to nature experience, and you have no kids, or kids who are good with making their own fun, this is not the place for you.

This is a FAMILY CAMPGROUND for sure. IT IS BIG, so there can be a lot of people... The sites are reasonably spaced and there are lots of mature trees to help separate and give shade. The park spent a lot of time and money doing Halloween decorations, which seemed to be everywhere you turned. If you like the family aspect, you'll be thrilled with the park. There are RV, tent sites and a bunch of cabins as well. Ai least one good sized pool, a cafe, a camp store, and at least one playground. Being as big as it was, it was reasonably quiet, with the occasional sound of kids laughter. It was very pleasant. Checking in and out was easy. The site map they give you when you enter is a necessity... Electric was good, water pressure WAS REALLY HIGH, so don't forget your water pressure regulator! It was both available AND quite affordable, at 41/night, less ASA discount. Close by is shopping and gas stations. We very much enjoyed our stay! 👍👍👍

2 years later, there's still not a sign for the Sweet Gum road. Saw so many lost campers. The playgrounds are falling apart, Rusted holes on steps, definitely not safe. The water is brown. Expired food in the store especially can goods. Over a year old, when when I pointed it out, employee left the food on the shelf. Some of the bathrooms were not clean the entire time we were there. None of the Campground lights were on during our stay at night. There were a few rude employees checking us in.
We enjoyed the private parking lot at Virginia Beach. Good site prices..
