We were unaware of the protocol of online reservation and when we found a sight and started unloading we were met with an unfriendly reproach. We were able to reserve online immediately.
We had a hard time sleeping because of the sour smell from the factory across the river

The park bathroom was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. Would be a great place to fish from shore but the water is stagnant. Cleaning out the milfoil would not be very hard. Many bugs so we plugged in a bug zapper witch helped out a lot.

Reservation system easy. Campground well maintained. Bath and shower room excellent. Very clean. Free showers. The negative is the location. It is across the river from a noisy industrial area. Hard time sleeping through that. Obviously not something that can be easily fixed.

The volunteers who signed us in were very pleasant and helpful. The facilities were clean and pleasant. It is a delightful park with outstanding RV facilities.

Park is beautiful but we had several issues. Spots listed as though they will accommodate your equipment however, this only means your trailer in some spots. Minimal parking within park, only at day area. Bugs, spiders, mosquitoes oh my! Be prepared for all of them. We even got to take some home with us. Beach area is nice to some extent - life jackets available, swimming area roped off, but be prepared for geese droppings everywhere, and more bugs. Overall, wouldn’t want to stay here again.

Beautiful park, RV spots are large. Large shade trees that are infested with spiders. They were dropping from the trees all over and cobwebs popped up over night on everything. Also lioads of earwigs. Camp host said park was rarely or never sprayed and spiders will get worse as the season goes on. Will not be returning

I like getting up early and birding around the pond. I saw 20 species the first morning. I also saw a mink and a muskrat. We camp at Hood Park every year. I wish the season was longer. It was great camping in September during Covid. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I did not like hearing chainsaws and trucks going by as the clean-up work of the tree trimming continued most of the day. I go camping to relax and enjoy the sound of birds. I hope the trimming was necessary for safety as the tree was near the playground. Also, Spring is nesting season, so a bad time to be cutting trees. There was also a truck working on something underground on our campsite. These repairs should take place when the campground is closed. Unfortunately, I was bit 18 times by an unknown insect that sent me to urgent care with a reaction and infection.

- Park gate closed and quiet hours from;
- All campers must STOP and check-in at gate house before proceeding into the campground

- PETS must be RESTRAINED on a 6 ft leash at ALL TIMES
- Campfires allowed UNLESS A FIRE BAN is in effect

- When hanging hammocks on trees must use 3 inch flat strap (webbing)
