The park is nice enough and our site was big enough for our 40' 5th wheel. However, most of the sites, especially those for tents are very sloped. Saw many tents way down the slope or sitting right on the edge of the slope. As many reviews had indicated, there were many, many spiders - and cobwebs everywhere! The beach was not really all that inviting looking. There is a lot of weeds/mildew gunk all thru that area. We did kayak out of the launching area - which you have to go out of the park and turn right to get to it. Really wasn't all that enamored with the area.

Would have been an excellent stay, but the spiders. An unrealistic amount of spiders. Webs everywhere, spiders everywhere. Like, literally spiders…. On everything.

This was our 5th time at Hood Park and as usual, our trip was great. The park is clean, shady and peaceful. We loved swimming and floating in the river and watching the barges go by at night! Can’t wait to return!

The spider infestation is OUT OF CONTROL. Plus the circuit in the loop kept tripping and we were asked to turn off our A/C. If I didn’t want A/C I wouldn’t pay for a campsite. Camp hosts were grumpy and just not a great experience.

Nice clean park, easy parking. This area is somewhat industrial - factories across the river, but it was a good place to stop over.

Park is kept clean and the camp hosts are friendly. When potential problems are reported to hosts, they pass the info to the people that get the situation taken care of. Camp hosts also take frequent drives around the park to stay abreast of potential problems.

The spiders and spider webs were horrible. Other than that, we had a good time. Randy, one of our hosts was very polite and friendly. I enjoyed talking with him.

SPIDERS EVERYWHERE!!! And not just a few, I mean ALOT! Big ones! Apparently they fall from the trees. They were all over on the outside of our trailer, on the cars and anywhere else they felt like landing. We didn't notice quite so much the 1st day we checked in, but when we got up in the morning, that was a different story! We had friends stay the 1st night with us but they left early because of them and even quicker after she found one crawling on her! That was it, she was out. We stuck it out for 1 more night. The next morning my husband literally went through more than 1 can of spray and after over 2 hrs of killing them, he said that's it we are out! We never packed up so fast. We had to power wash everything when we got home and get our car and truck right to the car wash. Thank goodness none got inside our trailer. I am now soooooo paranoid of spiders! So we had to cut our camping trip short. Oh and don't expect any refunds, they don't care! The staff there were just very rude people anyways. Too bad, it's a very well kept Campground. Other people left out early cause they couldn't take the spiders either. What a shame. All I know is that I should have read more than a couple of the reviews because this is a huge issue there. BE SMART AND DON'T GO THERE, unless of course you like spiders. Disgusting.

Everything was fine except the horrible infestation of spiders. I am not afraid of spiders but found this level to be disturbing. We swept everything off before leaving but I still kept finding them for three days after arriving home.

The hosts were very informative and nice. The CG was clean and the showers were good. Big shade trees and a nice tidy lawn. We were in spot #58. Directly across from the Tank Farm across the river. I had no idea what a Tank Farm was. A large barge tied up there all night and its engine ran. Something that sounded like a huge generator also ran all night. At about 4 or 5 am the generator shut off and then an alarm that sounds like a back up warning began going off for quite awhile. We just got up and left. I would not stay here ever again despite the nice grounds. I'm sorry to say this as the CG has no control over what goes on across the river.
