We have been year-to-year members of Thousand Trails and have genuinely enjoyed the parks and the time we’ve spent as a family. We are not high-maintenance travelers, and we understand that these are busy, working campgrounds with a lot of moving parts.

That said, as paying members, we do expect basic courtesy and follow-through — and that’s where our experience has fallen short.

After completing radiation treatment, my family and I booked a trip to the Chehalis location to relax and celebrate. Unfortunately, our stay started off rough due to rude behavior at the gate. Based on what we could see, we chose the line we believed was correct. When we were told we were in the wrong line, we immediately apologized. Instead of simply redirecting us, the staff member spoke to us in a rude and shaming manner, and we were asked if we could read because there was supposedly a sign.

While there was a sign, it was not visible from where we pulled in because it was blocked by trucks and RVs. We later observed another group forced to wait a long time due to similar confusion, which suggested the setup itself was unclear — not just user error.

We were not upset about being corrected; we were upset about being spoken to disrespectfully. We later made a complaint and never received a response.

Additionally, we were asked to sit through a sales presentation and were told a cabin pass would be emailed to us. That never happened, and when we followed up, the responsibility was placed on us rather than addressed.

We have valued our membership overall, but customer service matters. As a blue-collar family who pays year to year, we don’t expect special treatment — just clear communication, basic respect, and accountability when something goes wrong.

I knew a TT would be bad but this was worse. There are no signs on the road so we passed it and had to turn around. The first sign is 50ft down the entrance road. Pulled up to the gate and immediately wanted to leave. The employee who checked us in was wearing a large cult symbol around his neck. Had I not booked a weekend for the whole family at the Great Wolf Lodge nearby I'd have turned around and left immediately. I definitely won't be back. Inside the park you can expect further disappointment. Severe lack of signage and the ones they do have are mostly worn and virtually unreadable. Drove around for a half hour trying to find our site.
Site was crap. Overgrown with weeds. Picnic table had been pitched halfway down the hill behind site along with the fire ring. Had to drag them both back up the hill. Obviously no one checks the sites.
Many sites are overgrown with branches, no one trims. And few sites get enough sky for satellite. There is no wifi and we only got 1 or 2 bars on the cell.
Seem to be lots of long term residents based on junk in the sites and rigs covered with tarps.
The rec room smells of mildew. Restrooms were clean but poorly maintained. Broken and missing faucet handles, lights don't work, and graffiti. And they clearly hire a blind person to paint. We camped at Thousand Trails Chehalis in a Fifth Wheel.

I wish you could rate rangers and managers separately on here. Rangers are amazing consistently and very kind, but After dealing with Brians’ (site manager) dramatically demeaning attitude, I find it hard to ask Brian, the SITE MANAGER for any help. I myself am a franchise Manager of a restaurant, and as a leader myself, I am dissatisfied and baffled with how awful he treats people with all the confidence in the world. I already talked to corporate and they expressed this is not a new issue and they will be addressing it. HOPEFULLY something changes, because for the last 2 years I see nothing but complaints about the guy. ALL office staff and country shop workers close at noon most days, I watch them leave early almost everyday. So the stores and managers are never available. When we all pay THOUSANDS of dollars to be a THOUSAND trails, we should at least receive bare minimum respect and accommodations listed to be available. So if you come here, CALL CORPORATE instead, they answer their phones every time and respond quickly to your messages with help.

There's no control or enforcement at Chehalis Thousand trails. A man sitting at the front of his campsite picking pot leaves off his plant. There's no campfires currently, very dry weather. The kids next to us started a campfire, lit sticks on fire and poked them in the old stump at the end of our campsite. Their parents were gone. Elderly people walking their dogs on retractable leashes, letting the dogs leave feces and not picking it up. They don't pick up after their dogs in the dog park either. Watch out for the guys on electric bikes that race down the middle. This used to be my favorite place. The staff needs help. They need more maintenance money to fix bathrooms. They need to clean and maintain the one working pool. They need to enforce the rules with consequences. Too many open campfires right now. Too much trash. Fine your campers/members. Make them accountable. Hold them responsible for when they overload and fry the electrical pedestals.
Currently they do have the best cleaning staff.

Please note: we did not stay in a room. I am referring to our campsite G 10.
As soon as we got there, we checked with the park Ranger, she was extremely friendly and helpful! Onto our campsite- roads are well marked with directional arrows. This campground is massive 200 or 300 acres and it was groomed, clean, and the power water sewer hook up, worked as it should.A few Sides were overgrown with yellow chain-link bits across them. Those are the ones I believe were people parked there travel trailers for long-term use, Some of those sites weren’t groomed like the others.
The map was on point! The two swimming pools were amazingly clean, as clean as the promotional photo that is featured! Restrooms are very clean and well stocked. Miles and miles of hiking trail.
The little store they have is packed with goodies, including T-shirts, stickers, hoody’s and caps for people that like to collect them. The cashier was very, very friendly also.
This place was so awesome, that we booked another camping trip before we left for home.
❤️❤️❤️
